I recently had total hip replacement surgery and part of the post op precautions say do NOT bend down to pick things up or for any reason. How am I supposed to water the garden when the spigot turning handle for the garden hose is way down there? Call a plumber and have them put an extender on the spigot handle? Or just get one of these reaching tools? I am glad I bought this. I’ve recovered from hip surgery and am now able to bend down far enough to reach the garden watering spigot turning handle thing, (using my own body by bending a little, it’s within my reach again) without needing to use this reaching device. But for upcoming back surgery, with even stricter post op restrictions, it will be very good indeed to have access to this handy reaching device. For other people who are beginning the adventure of being old, if your hip or knees or back bother you when you bend down to turn on the garden hose, get one of these. It works great.

I a property where turning the water on and off has become routine. I was tired of looking for someone to help with turning my water on and off. This tool is the right size and price. The tool performs and is very durable.

I read many reviews for other items that complain about poor finish or alignment of the business end of the wrench. This one had perfect, square, clean and sharp edges. Excellent! The valves I need to open/close have a 1/2" tab, and I wanted to take the ~13/16" opening down closer to 1/2" to ease the job. I took my heavy-duty (60 lb.) bench vise and carefully coaxed the gap down to 9/16" (took me 3-4 careful squeezings) - perfect for my application. And I was able to do so with zero heating. Good times.

Functional! I opted for this shorter key because I thought storing it would be easier, but it does just barely reach where I need to turn at the water box so I'd maybe recommend going with a slightly longer version to not have to get at ground level to do the turning. Still better than a wrench by far.
