The folders are very nice.I wanted to create a customized folder for marketing purposes, and chose this folder because of its material, and it's look/feel. I purchased some embossing stuff: a heat gun, embossing dust, a rubber stamp, stamp pad. Because of the material, when I applied the heat the folders started to 'wave' and loose the structure. I have not embossed before, so I don't know about the characteristics of materials and how they are affected by embossing/heat application.The folders are still usable after heating them up. When they cool, they get a little better.I like the business card holder on the inside flap.

A cause I am involved with has a project result that needs to be distributed to interested persons in the Kansas City area. A grant has given us funding to print the materials and disseminate them, so we went looking for the most environmentally supportive folders, strong enough to transport the materials and then let the recipient store them for reference. This was it! Recycled fibers; simple, neutral, business-like color and texture. Serious and serviceable. I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness because the lack of a plasticized or other external finish means if you put on hand lotion and then handle the folders, there will be fingerprints! I wish they were a little thicker stock paper, but I love the color and folder overall. The purpose that I am using them for is for presentation purposes . I would not use these for large amounts of paper like for a class or something where it would be getting constantly pulled out and opened. I’m sure it would tear and get worn quickly.

This is actually a great price. You can spend twice as much at Staples for basic pocket folders. They are sturdy but not super duty. They worked very well for the few papers I needed to put inside to hand out as packets at work. I really like the slightly textured recycled material and why not be environmentally conscience? I'm sure I will restock with more in the future.

I decided to order a box of these to store documents for my classes each semester, and I'm pleased with the box of 25 - that will last me a couple of semesters. I really love the natural brown/tan paper look that I chose, and I appreciate that they're made from recycled, post-consumer fibre. So much support for that. The folders serve a student's purposes perfectly, although they are a little flimsy, so I wouldn't stuff them too thick.
