The gas shut-off valve is designed for use with liquefied petroleum, LP gas, and air mixtures up to 175 PSI, and is designed to withstand a temperature range from 32 degrees to 125 degrees F. Very high quality brass gas valve. Lever is easy to operate and the flare fitting sealed with a flex hose on the first attempt. I checked for gas leaks with a detector and there none. Both ends sealed easily with yellow teflon tape. Good value for money. Highly recommend.

I smelled a little gas when using the dryer. The gas company came out that same day and confirmed a small leak in the valve. He said to have a pro come out to replace it. I called a plumber and wanted to be ready with the hardware. It took me a while to figure out the sizes - 1/2" is the standard by us for the gas line coming in to the house, and this valve is for natural gas. Just be sure you get the right size of flexible hose to go to the dryer.

All the measurements can get kind of confusing to some people so to make it clear the male end is 1/2" and the female is 3/4". I have an older house and the gas pipes are 5/8 and it seems they don't make that size any more. Thank goodness I can just use the hose from the old stove.
