I am amazed how much I use this over my seam ripper. It is very exact. It’s easy to use and I have never damaged the fabrics. I think it’s a little pricy but it is very useful.

I use these all the time when I am quilting. In fact I have several. The blade is sharp plus easy to change when dull. Screw can come loose so keep an eye on it. I still think it’s the best seam ripper I have.

I bought a similar seam ripper and loved it so much that I looked them up on Amazon. But this product blade are longer an more curved. The blade is sharp, but the tip does not stay sharp. I ordered blades through Wawak to replace these. I am a professional seamstress so the tip needs to be sharp enough to lightly touch the thread to cut. The handle does not need the extra nut and the pin that holds the upper part of the blade is too long so when attached the blad does not stay tight to the handle tip.

I had a T-shirt seam, I wanted to rip off, and those things are together with a serger, this little puppy ripped right through it, it is pretty sharp, I cut a little small pinsized hole, but now I want to go rip some pockets off some denim, I know this will be FUN. The only thing I would say is, when you try and put the blade on, remember what little screw you took off what little part. I took the screw out, and couldn't remember, it was trial and error, no directions. There is two blades, only not on it, you have to put the first blade on yourself, so when removing the screw, remember where it was.

I was making a quilt and sewed one entire row with the wrong color thread. I couldn't get the thread out with a regular seam ripper. I used this surgical seam ripper and it worked like a dream. It's extremely sharp so if using it on a quilt make sure to have the blade facing the batting and not your fabric.

The tool itself is great. It's got a nice curve to it, and the blade means business. However the safety cap is a soft plastic that is very easy for this very sharp blade to pierce as you're putting it on. It's hazardous. I wish I'd looked for one with a hard cap.

This seam ripper makes ripping out normal stitches faster and easier, BUT it really is an advantage when ripping out serging, and embroidery. It valuable time and makes it less stressful
