I got this to use in conjunction with my K40 laser cutter as the air driver for an air assist nozzle. It puts out a lot of air - more than enough to keep the nozzle clear and to keep things from flaming up on the bed.Things I like:- The air splitter it comes with is metal and the valves work reasonably well, so you can change the air output easily without worrying about breaking things- Puts out a lot of air- Seems ok so far in continuous operation for multiple hoursThings to be aware of:- If you turn it on without having the air hose connected, it's really loud. With the air hose connected it's still fairly loud and I wouldn't recommend it for indoor use in a place where noise might be an issue. I'm using it in a garage so it's not a problem at all. Be sure to place it properly on its rubber feet as well or else it will vibrate whatever it's on quite a lot.- As others have noted, it does get hot during operation, so be sure you have some ventilation for it.

This review is for the 793GPH version.I planned to use this for a pond on my back porch, but decided to use a different pump because this one is a little too loud, even with the intake muffled and the pump and intake put in a cinder block box. It's actually rather quiet *relative to its power*, but it was still a little too audible from a few feet away, for my liking. If you have a loud waterfall nearby, it might mask the pump noise enough for you. If you can place the pump in a garage / shed and run a long air line to your pond or aquarium, it will work great. The power is amazing, it violently churns the water in a 5 gallon bucket when used with a large air stone. Seems very sturdy and well built overall. The gang valve is very solid metal as well, this is easily worth $10 on its own. Overall this is a great deal that is far better than anything you will get at the pet store in this price range.

Do not cover the pump with a bucket to minimize the noise. It will overheat and stop working. Mine worked again after it cooled off.

I bought this for my koi pond, the heat here in the summer is pretty intense and I felt the fish would benefit from some extra oxygen! I first tested it inside. When I turned it on it sounded like a freight train! Of course my first thought was this is not going to be good!! However once I got it all installed outside the noise was minimal. Between the filter, the water falls, the birds singing etc you could not hear it. It really is powerful and my fish love it, they love hanging out in all the bubbles. The air stone is 6 inches in diameter and works very well.IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE AIR STONE YOU MUST PURCHASE THE STONE SEPARATELY.I purchased a small plastic container melted a hole for the tubing and another for the power cord and enclosed the pump inside the container so it will not become wet. It also comes with a bar that has 5 ports on it so you can hook up several air stones at at time if you wish.Highly recommend

high flow , low watt draw.Pump body ran a bit hot, so i added a basic 80mm fan, it barely gets warm now...barely.added a small 2 inch diameter canister fuel filter to muffle the intake, its now almost silent. No real complaint other then it should come with an intake muffler, and a cooling fan, the only faults it has IMHO.Also, DONT run pump 100% wide open, it likes a bit of back pressure on the output side . ( You'll hear it settle down when you close the valves a bit, and howl, vibrate when run wide open. )That's because the pump diaphragm is overworking and colliding with itself, imagine a flag in a windstorm slapping and popping ! Now you see !!! :)

I waited a long time before writing a review, about a year-and-a-half now has passed. I have just purchased my 7th unit. All are still running perfectly fine as brand new. I am very happy with this product and have had no issues at all. I am very pleased with the power and the ability of this size unit to effectively run 6 Airlines seemingly effortlessly. I use it for Sponge Filter setups on indoor aquariums with an ambient temperature around 76° give or take. As for people complaining about noise or longevity I would challenge that by saying of course it's not going to be the quietest pump but it is not obnoxious. I cut the vibration down by putting a thick cardboard square underneath it. Yes they run warm but if all vents are half to three-quarters of the way open it maintains a reasonable temperature. I have invertebrates in my tanks and I like that the nozzle is brass and not copper which is toxic to all invertebrates over time... I would recommend this to anyone who is running multiple tanks indoors. Hope this helps with your decision. That's why I wrote this review. Great product!!! Great bang for the buck!!!

Read a lot of reviews about the noise. When you first plug it its noise - but the motor isn't noisy, the air lines are. I closed off all the airlines, but one (only needed one) and the motor was not that loud at all.If you pad it - tuck it someplace, you won't even here it. Good price, for an extremely powerful air pump!

very noisy, but it works great with good air flow for my application. Cannot tell about longevity, but worked ok for 6 months, intermittent use.

Moves quite a bit of air, seems fairly reliable as I’ve been using it constantly for about a week now. In case anyone else is doing dwc or rdwc this pump works great for about 2-3 5gal buckets.
