Easy to Use
Using one of the most common connection for any peripherals, you will not have any problem connecting this to your Windows PC. Windows Transcription Software Application is needed for the pedal to work. NOTE: Windows Media Player, Real Audio and most other sound file players are NOT designed to work with a USB foot pedal. Software not included.

This product is really excellent. It worked with VLC. One thing to note about the installation instructions: they didn't take until I rebooted the computer. Then it worked like a champ.

I bought the pedal because I need to transcribe from audio mp3 files using VLC Media Player. I use notepad for my word processing program. When transcribing, only VLC and notepad are open on my pc. The pedals work: Pause/Play, Fast forward, fast backward. The problem is that each time I pause the audio to write, then I go back to play the audio again, the focus goes from notepad to VLC. The cursor is no longer on the notepad page. This means that I can no longer write. The only way to return the focus to notepad is to click on notepad with my mouse, or use the hot-keys alt-TAB, twice. Since I could already do this without the pedal, the pedal is useless. I tried getting help on Amazon, then directly from the manufacturer. The manufacturer hasn't responded after a week, so I am returning the pedal for my money back.

There are a few different foot pedals that look EXACTLY the same but are configured to different programs. I'm sure this thing works great for the program it was intended for. I thought I had selected the correct foot pedal but I did not. When they say it doesn't work with Express Scribe, they mean it! Not sure why they look exactly the same, they're clearly the same foot pedal.

While I wasn't super-excited about using VLC to play back the content, this unit in stock required this. It took me less than 10 minutes to set it up, and it works like a champ. I do a lot of interview and meetings, and this has cut my transcription time down by 2/3s.The unit is well-built, performs as documented, and gets the job done. No regrets!

Love this pedal. Works well. Comfortable to use and responsive. Did need to call the manufacturer for instruction to change settings in VLC, however that was a simple process that was completed in a few minutes. (Instructions online must be outdated?)

I've been using this for a while now and have transcribed quite a bit of material. I was unsure of the set-up, but the customer service person was patient and helpful, making sure I had the set- up done correctly. I've been very pleased with this product!

the item in the picture of the product you are buying and the actual product you receive are different. I use a foot pedal for 100% of my job. When I order something, I expect it to be the product described. A foot pedal that has a main button that is 1/4 inch off the floor versus 1/2 inch MATTERS to people who use them daily.
