Conventional Bias

Conventional Wheels

Conventional steel wheels are built for the long haul. Normally seen on smaller wheels (8" through 12"), the superior materials are used to perform at the highest of standards.

Today’s steel trailer wheels are constructed from the highest grades of steel alloys. These steels are stronger, lighter, and can carry the loads required by modern towables. Conventional wheels are designed with a solid look to them for a sleek design. High quality steel alloy for strength and weight reduction to other brands. All welds inspected for penetration and quality.

Modular Bias

Modular Wheels

Modular teel wheels are built for the long haul. The superior materials are used to perform at the highest of standards.

Today’s steel trailer wheels are constructed from the highest grades of steel alloys. These steels are stronger, lighter, and can carry the loads required by modern towables. Modular wheels are designed with circular holes for a great design. High quality steel alloy for strength and weight reduction to other brands. All welds inspected for penetration and quality.

Spoke Bias

Spoke Wheels

Spoke (sometimes called "wagon") steel wheels are built for the long haul. The superior materials are used to perform at the highest of standards.

Today’s steel trailer wheels are constructed from the highest grades of steel alloys. These steels are stronger, lighter, and can carry the loads required by modern towables. I ordered these tire/rim combinations for my boat trailer. They arrived within a few days and were exactly as described. The tires mounted on the rims are Eco-Trail brand, which is made by a company called "Qind". Qind is a Chinese manufacturer relatively new to the tire market having been in business since 1990. Still, the term "new" is relative because that's 26 years in the tire business. A quick search on the internet did not reveal any complaints or recalls regarding Qind or Eco-Trail.The quality and composition of the tire is unknown. It's rubber with nylon bias-ply belting and that's about all I can tell. The tire sells for a few dollars more than the Kenda brand as a rule, so it might not be unreasonable to think these tires are in that same class and perhaps a marginally better tire.A selling point of these tires is that they are "... a truly revolutionary tread design that gives the appearance and footprint similar to that of a radial tire." The tread design looks more than adequate to me.The rims are hot-dipped galvanized steel. They look exactly like a hot dipped galvanized rim should look, with a good coating of galvanization (zinc) for rust proofing and some runs or puddling of the hot dip apparent but not obvious. The rim is made with two pieces of steel, the inner wheel where the "spokes" are is welded to the outer rim that grips the tire. This is standard for this kind of tire and rim combination and exactly like the OEM tires and rims that they replaced on my boat trailer. There are four welds solidly done with no apparent voids, dross or spall. This is important because this is a failure point for this type of wheel, there is significant torque on the wheel when cornering and backing and if these welds are not sturdy and solid the wheel can break at that point. These welds appear to me to be easily adequate to handle that torque and are at least as good as the OEM wheels that have lasted many years despite significant rusting. The hot dipped galvanization LOOKS like hot dipped galvanization. If you're buying these tires because you want shiny silver rims of show room quality you're going to be disappointed. If you're buying these because you need the rust resistance that galvanization offers and don't really care if the rim looks like hot dipped steel, they're great. At this price point you have no reason to expect anything else.I chose the galvanized rims for their resistance to rust. I launch my boat in salt, brackish and fresh water so rust is a big factor and a large part of the reason I needed to replace my old rims. The old rims were rusted to the point and at places where it was starting to worry me. The old tires were also having issues with dry rot/weather checking even though they had plenty of tread on them. One of the tires had a slow leak which I'm not sure if that was due to weathering, rust eating through the rim or a valve stem problem. Being as it was time to replace the whole tire and wheel anyway I didn't bother to try to fix that slow leak, I had just made a practice of checking and inflating those tires before towing which is always a good policy even with a brand new tire and rim. While I do take my boat various places throughout the year, the vast majority of the time (like 9 out of 10 times) I only tow it 5 miles from my house to a ramp that has brackish water on a creek near the Intercoastal Waterway. So it's not like I put a lot of miles on my trailer tires. I've never actually kept track of the mileage but I'm sure it's less than 500 miles a year. The valve stems on these rims are brass with a rubber collar rather than rubber with a metal insert. This is a very good system and is indicative of good quality. The OEM tires were Load Range "B" and these new tires are Load Range "C". So they are a sturdier tire than the OEM tires. I went that route hoping to get a few more years out of them because Load Range "C" tires are a thicker sidewall and thus any damage, dry rot or weather checking has to penetrate deeper before it becomes an issue. The Load Range "C" tires are a bit of overkill but they should stand up better over time too.The pressure rating of these tires is 90 PSI according to the sidewall. To me that seems like a lot, the old ones were 60 PSI. However, it is vital to inflate a trailer tire to at least its rated pressure and generally it is better to be slightly over-inflated than under-inflated. The tire sidewall for a trailer tire is thicker than a car/truck tire to withstand the weight of the load with minimal flexing. Flexing develops heat and ruins trailer tires, so pump your trailer tires up to whatever is stated on the sidewall, even if that seems a bit high as it does in this case. My compressor equalizes at exactly 90 PSI with these tires and I cannot get any more air into them, so I can just hit the rated PSI thankfully.I just put these tires on my trailer a few days ago so I have no idea what they will be like for performance and longevity. The problem I've experienced with trailer tires in the past is that they do not wear out tread-wise. They fail because of age and things like dry-rot and weather checking. I park my boat trailer on wooden blocks to keep the wheels off the damp ground and cover them with wheel covers. It's not unusual to get 6 - 10 years out of a set of tires with this procedure. The price of these tires with galvanized rims is very attractive and that's why I chose this item. Time will tell if that's a good choice and if there's anything else to report in the future I'll come back and add to this review.

I am really pretty surprised by how nice these wheels and tires are. My expectations were low. They are well made and they ride very smooth. I didn't realize how out of balance my old ones were til I installed these. Don't forget to buy new lug nuts!

The first shipment received was incorrect. We were sent 8" tires instead of 12" tires. We a returned them the same day they were received and reordered the 12" tires. Two days later the correct size tires were received. Very happy with the tires and price!

Very fast delivery! I drove a trailer with the tires/rims over 700 miles after installing them at speeds up to and slightly faster than the rated 80 mph with no heating, sidewalk bubbling, or other issues that could cause a problem. The load was not very heavy, but the trailer rode and tracked well. I would highly recommend these to others. Some might not like the galvanized look off the rims, but i do, and I think that they will hold up better than painted rims.
