The spring is assembled the wrong way and does not work. It needs to be rotated 180°.

I put this on my 1969 Corvette 350 / 300HP. It fit but is made very cheap. Also the pin to hold the rod to the carb was missing.

The pin was 180 degrees out - for my big block 454 Crusader. You just flip the existing rod from outside to inside and it falls in place like a glove. Worked beautifully for me. The housing is a bit of a challenge, but level pressure on both sides after aligning it did the trick.
