My initial thoughts were, this stuff is too flimsy. After flattening as the instructions stated and gluing up my first shelf (I veneered some new cabinets I built out of MDF) I realized this stuff is pretty good. It's user friendly and really looks good. Even when gluing up the veneer with a seam, the seams flushed up nicely and you can't tell there are 2 peices of veneer. You can sand lightly, it sands nicely I was also pleased to see how well it took finishing oil. I was so pleased, I just purchased 3 more rolls of the 2ftx8ft paperback veneer. I used this on the shelves and I painted the cabinet carcasses dark charcoal gray, the shelves look like solid walnut, I'm impressed. The trick is using just the right amount of glue if you get the paperback. Not too much, not too little. Too much glue and it will ripple the veneer and ruin the finished product. This product gave me the look I had envisioned. Thanks

Beautifully. Veneer for cI love how my kitchen reno is coming together, especially the cabinets 😍. Custom cabinets are the way to go, and veneer is where it's at for that luxurious look. So many options to choose from. It's a bit overwhelming but exciting! Can't wait to see the finished product and show it off to everyone. #customcabinets #veneer #kitchenreno #DIY #whatwoodyoubuildustom cabinets

Really nice real wood veneer product! The size was great for my needs (a pair of rear loaded horn speakers) and the shipping via a roll in a box from Amazon was ideal.I did need to ensure a few days for proper flattening before installation. I used the wood glue method with this paper backed veneer to achieve very solid results. Light sanding as needed was no problem. The finish I used was simply clear shellac over the veneer and I’m pleased with the result. The veneer appears flat and much lighter in color before finishing - keep this in mind.

I purchased two sheets of veneer. The first was great, it had a varied and continuous grain pattern across the whole sheet and the color was deep enough to get away with only needing to oil to finish. The second sheet was awful. It was extremely pale in color, and is composed of several 4" wide and 2' long strips that are glued together. The glue joints are extremely obvious, and the grain makes a horrible repeating pattern across the sheet. I had to stain the wood to achieve the darker color pictured.Would not recommend

UPDATE Jan 27, 2020My purchase had been slightly damaged in shipping, and Nicolas from Edge Supply was very quick to replace it - bravo! The damage was minimal, but my project needed the entire 24” width. In retrospect I should have purchased the 48” wide piece to allow for movement in gluing as well as variations in the natural wood grain.I’m anxious to try some of the other wood veneers for other products.~~~~~~~(Old review)This Walnut veneer is beautiful! My disappointment is that there were four places on the long edges that are bent, making the usable width about 22”. Unfortunately I need the entire width for my project, so I’m not sure what I’m going to do.I’ve worked with veneers quite a bit, and this walnut is excellent. I would give this product 5 stars if the edges were usable. Or if my project was only 22” wide :-)

This veneer didn't match the advertised color but it was still a very nice color that I can live with. It was easy to cut and adhered well with contact cement. It comes in a roll so you have to unroll it, let it relax for a couple days. Then cut the pieces to size and flatten the pieces with heavy books before gluing. My project looks fabulous.

Too light, dull, looks more like the color oak. Does not remotely come close to matching my other walnut veneers and hardwoods. Can’t use. Looks nothing like the picture which is what I expected. In the photos I took: my veneer on top upper right and middle , sellers veneer on bottom. Both veneer are raw.
