I had to work a bit to get these replacement filters to fit into my Kenmore canister vacuum model #116.21814411. The old one had been in place more than 4 yrs and the filter seal had become compressed making it super easy to get the filter in and out of the compartment. When I went to put the new replacement filter in, it was a very tight and I had trouble getting it to seat properly. For a canister, vacuum, the secret is to put the canister front and down and the back and straight up in the air balance between your knees as you sit in a chair. This gives you the excellent visualization of the compartment that you will need to get the filter to seat properly it’s going to be tight and a little tough to slide down into place. Make sure I all four sides are evenly seated in the compartment. When you put the lid on the compartment, it’s going take a little pushing down on the compartment lid to allow the latch to snap into place.

This filter fit better and the cost is much less than the actual Kenmore replacement filter.

The filters look well made, but they require quite a bit of force to close the hatch on them. I suspect the frames are a few mm too thick. I cannot comment yet on how well they work.

These seem to be working fine. I never realized how badly I needed to change this filter until I did!
