I don’t actually own any Canon EF or EF-S lenses, mainly because I don’t have a particularly high opinion of Canon optics. On the other hand, Sony lenses, many of which include Zeiss optics, dollar for dollar, generally outperform Canon, leaving little reason for me to purchase Canon lenses. However, I do have a high regard of Zeiss optics, and therefore Canon EF-E ZE lenses, the ones with electronic aperture control that also incorporate Zeiss optics. These lenses, especially the older ones that are manually focused, have a uniquely cinematic quality. So, in order to use Canon EF-E ZE lenses on my Sony camera bodies I need an adapter with electronic contacts. So that’s the reason that I ordered the Geordgy Canon EF/EF-S to Sony E adapter. Of course, when I ordered it, I didn’t know if it was going to work solely for the purpose of actuating the aperture of my Canon EF-E ZE lenses, but it was likely, since it would be doing that anyway with attached EF/EF-S lenses. And it does, it works fine for my purposes, reliably stopping the EF-E ZE lenses down when the shutter is released. And if I ever do consider owning a Canon EF/EF-S lens, the Geordgy adapter allows for that option. The adapter itself looks to be solidly built and is pretty light weight, especially compared to the Metabones adapters I’ve been using. As the sellers PoP page diagram shows, the flanges on both ends are “all metal†with an anodized aluminum body in-between. Incorporated inside the adapter is a micro-USB port, presumably for future firmware updates, although I’m not sure how to find out if one is available. The adapter is supplied with a plastic storage tub and includes a front and rear lens cap; the front to fit Canon and the rear Sony fitted.I did read through the directions for the use of the adapter, and they are, at least for me, a little confusing on the first read. The desired settings depend on the use of the adapter’s C/P (Wide-Open/Custom Function) button in conjunction with the sequence that the lens to adapter to camera is attached or detached, along with when to or not to hold down the button while the camera is powered on or off. Yikes; those with a photographic memory should have no trouble with the instructions. It’s actually not that scary, the user will likely have a preferred mode that once set, will probably stay that way in most instances. But don’t lose the instructions!I can’t say that I’ve tested the autofocus capabilities of the Geordgy Adapter, but it appears other reviewers have provided those insights; from what I’ve read it performs very well in that regard. For my purposes, controlling the aperture of Can EF-E ZE lenses, it works fine, and its light. I have no criticisms of the adapter.

Did not work pairing my sigma 24-70 ef lens to my Sony a7iii. Would not read. Tried to follow the instructions, got it to read something but couldn’t change the f-stop nor autofocus.

I am excited to have this adapter. It really works awesome for photos its fast to focus and accurate too, I had zero problems testing it out. The video works as well but not quite as good. Make sure you read the instructions because at first I couldn't get the autofocus to work in video but like ti says hold down the C/P and attach to camera with it powered on and sure enough it works. I just have the cheap canon 50mm lens so not sure if lens or adapter but one of the 2 is pretty noisy during video so you would need a off camera mic if you are doing audio. All in all for the price I am pretty impressed and have a whole new world of lens options available to me.

This is a great adapter for anyone looking to use their Canon EF lenses on their Sony E Mount cameras. I’ve been using this on both of Sony A7C and a Sony ZVE 10 with a number of Canon EF lenses and they all work perfectly. One thing I do want to point out however, is there are two different settings for this adapter. One of them does have auto focus in video mode and the other turns auto focus in video mode off. Definitely make sure you check the manual. I noticed when I first put this on my camera. I didn’t have any auto focus in video and I wasn’t sure what was going on. Once I checked the manual though I realized how to correct that and now everything works perfectly. Highly recommended.

The Lens Bayonet Adapter compatible with Canon has been a fantastic addition to my photography gear! It allows me to use a variety of lenses that I previously couldn’t access, expanding my creative options significantly. The build quality is solid, and it fits securely without any wobble, ensuring stability during shots. I’ve experienced no loss in image quality, which is impressive. Plus, the adapter is easy to attach and detach, making it convenient to switch lenses on the go. If you’re looking to enhance your Canon setup and explore new lens possibilities, this adapter is a great investment!

This fits my Sony A7rV camera body to attach Canon lenses. Lens info is transferred to the camera and autofocus works. There is a reduced frames-per-second using non-Sony lenses. Image quality doesn't seem to be affected, but there is a slight change to near focusing distance.

This adapter fits both my ef and ef-s series lenses, which is great to be able to use all my old lenses with a new camera (and not having to dump a bunch more $ into lenses immediately). This adapter allows me to "upgrade" my lenses as I make the switch from Canon to Sony, starting with the camera body first. Very helpful and saves me a ton $ in the initial investment/transition period.
