bought this to use with an older Sony shelf system I picked up online. can't say if it's better than the stock antenna included with the unit but it does the job. am/fm reception is very good. I do suggest looking at the product info on this antenna first since compatible models are listed. if your stereo doesn't have an F pin connection slot this won't work.

This item is described as an AM/FM loop antenna. However, when you open the package, the product says AM antenna which doesn't work for FM if that is what you need. (Look at the magnified image of the product and you will see what I am talking about.). Luckily, we didn't snap the plastic berfore reading the description on the stand. Also, since Amazon probably got the incorrect description from the manufacturer, their inventory label on the plastic bag also labels this as AM/FM. Manufacturer is not shipping what they describe.

Moved my old Sony stereo from the house to my shop. Lost the old antenna and found this replacement. With a bit of trepidation I ordered it and I am very pleased to say that it fit perfectly and works perfectly. I'm very happy with this product.

I have an old Sony MHC-EC70 home stereo and I had been listening to CDs for years before I finally decided to buy an antenna for the radio. This one does the trick. Great price.
