This is a nice set of small bar magnets. They work just as I expected. There is a dot on each one to differentiate the poles, and they come in a small box.

I homeschool my kids and we are getting ready to start a Chemistry unit. Bar magnets are on the supply list, so when I saw these, I pounced on them. When they arrived I was surprised at how small they are. I do see that in my haste I overlooked the 1.5 inch measurement. I did go around trying it on different things. I was able to pick up a dinner fork (about 37g), but not a butter knife(80g), so I think they would max out about 40 g each. They do include 2 little metal end pieces which might turn out to be useful during magnet experiments. One pole is marked on each magnet, but which is not specified as some other brands do, and the dots look like they were just painted on with finger nail polish. I will probably end up purchasing some bigger, more robust magnets.
