I could no longer find a belt for our Science First model 10-060 VanDeGraff generator. I bought this one and it worked fantastic! It is wider and longer and thicker than the original belt so I had to modify the machine and belt to work. I used another piece of PVC pipe and made a new post but about 3/4 inch longer. Just slightly streaching the belt. Instead of the original upper plastic roller holder I cut a pair of groves in the end of the PVC pipe for the upper shaft to sit in. To do this I drilled a hole through the pipe with a drill press (90deg) and then opened them up to the top but left it so the shaft was tight in the slots. I then trimmed the belt down to about 7/8 of an inch. (The original was 3/4)I remember the science First Generator was supposed to be about 75K volts new. By measuring spark length it seems it now puts out over 300KV ! Awesome!

Approximately 1.875" inches wide. When folded 14.250" inches, thickness is 0.039" inches thick. This material is not exactly sticky, just tacky and collects dust and debris very easily.

Got this to replace a belt from probably 1972 that had worn out and snapped. This works flawlessly

The dimensions given are bogus. How can a flat rubber belt be 7.9 x 7.5 x 5.5 inches and weigh 1/2 pound?? People are not able to buy your products when you do not give appropriate details. :(
