Just as humans have different levels of acuity in the senses of smell and sight, they also have differences in their ability to taste. Approximately 25% of Americans are considered "supertasters" and, of this subset, people have varying levels of "super tasting" ability. "Supertasters" are people who have the ability to taste the substance Phenylthiourea (PTC). Some people cannot taste this substance at all and others taste it quite distinctly. Whether or not a person is a supertaster (phenotype) is dependent on his/her genetics (genotype).

These worked great for my food science class. I just needed to google which was which since I didn’t know! They were fun and very easy to use!

If you teach genetics these are a great resource for a very easy lab - easy to set up, easy to clean up. The kids like it too - I sent them home with strips to test their parents too - they really liked it. The chemicals on the paper taste like crap I guess (I am not a supertaster so I can't taste it), but that's what you want with this product. I do this lab every year and it's always a good one. The product is perfect

This is a great product for testing taste buds. Used with 40 second graders and they loved the experiment. It is funny to me how flavor is one of the factors. If you are a super taster it's about the most bitter taste you'll get.

Totally missed “classroom pack†in the description, so got way more than I needed. But it was literally tubes of strips in a cardboard box. No instructions or links to videos. I had to pull up the Amazon listing to interpret the results. I guess it worked 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸ both hubs and I could taste it all.

This was such was fun test to do with the family. The kit came as described. It does not come with instructions but does come with a QR code on the box. Just scan it and it will take you to the instructions and printable sheets. This is a classroom kit with 100 strips in each tube so we will be sharing it with lots of friends.

Both my husband and I knew we were super tasters of some sort. We confirmed my husband to be a dominant super taster by tasting all 3 test strips. I, however, only tasted two. I tasted thiourea and sodium benzoate and did not have any taste with ptc. Unfortunately, there is no indication of what type of super taster I am in the instructions. There doesn't seem to be much information online about this particular taste set either.

I bought these for a party. While it was a fun activity the directions and details about each strip could have been better. There was not as much information and I had to google things along the way.

Comme décrit dans l'annonce, c'est un test à utiliser en cours de génétique (d'analyse sensorielle pour mon cas) histoire de montrer les variations personnelles de goût, et même les différences génétiques.Simple et efficace, je suis satisfait des premiers essais. A voir en vrai cours maintenant.

loads and loads of test papers! (great value) fun social activity for friends/family gatherings and for schoolchildren. Some tasted 3, others tasted none. It would have been better if there were clearer instructions/explanations of what do the 3 different tastes mean; and if someone tastes 2 out the three, or 1 out of the 3 means? I had to google search for answers.
