I was thinking this would have more substance. It's not wood...more like a thick foam type of material. I feel this could break if it's dropped and so I've been very careful while painting. It's pretty but not the kind of substance I was anticipating. Seems to take paint well but the paint doesn't show as dark as it would if the item was wood. It has nice detail and it's every bit as large as advertised. I does need to be painted or it might look cheap.
