drill where needed. sturdy enough for my solar charger mount. i screwed straight through to the board under siding. make sure you balance the pressure because the pivot is in the middle. wire runs through center. my dutchlap vinyl siding is 4", but i believe it will fit other sizes fine since it catches the groove and rides on top.

I purchased these to mount a few Ring cameras. Love that they can be painted to match. I bought a few extra to keep on hand.

The description does not, or did not when I ordered, mention that this has a profile for Dutch Lap. The product itself clearly says that. If that is what you need, it looks very good. Unfortunately, I needed a standard profile so it did not fit. Seller handled the return well, but some time wasted.

For some reason all the big box home stores only stock a surface mount block for traditional clapboard style siding, could not find a dutch lap style anywhere. Dutch lap is fairly popular. This is the same brand I've seen in stored but fits dutch lap siding. Worked well to mount an exterior electrical box.

Did not fit my vinyl siding design. Had to return but construction was sturdy.

This turned out to be the perfect solution to mount some outdoor cameras on my vinyl siding. The blocks were easy to install over my existing siding using just two screws. The material was durable enough to mount the cameras directly to them with the existing installation screws for the cameras. It looks as if the house was built with the cameras installed by the builder. I love these!

I used this product to serve as a base for a new generator power inlet. It worked fine to serve as a flat surface to mount my fixture. It also aesthetically more pleasing than to just mount the fixture directly on the wall. You also need duct seal putty around the opening, and appropriate caulking around the edges to prevent moisture, debris.

This product comes in white which is probably the most accepted color that someone might use straight out of the box. But most people don't have white siding and probably want to color match the vinyl color they currently have.. Its plastic and common sense says that you would be able to paint this to match your house since its the only one they sell here. While I can paint vinyl siding, and thousands of other plastics, they decided to make this out of a plastic that YOU CAN'T PAINT! That would be OK if they at least mentioned that in the description before you purchase it. But they didn't. I don't know which bright genius at the company thought that it would be a good idea to make a product that people would want to color match out of a material that can't be painted. BTW, I used both an oil and latex paint designed for plastics and neither adheres (yes, it was properly prepped).

So, the image clearly shows a tapered portion to keep this plate in line with the siding. It does not, in fact, have this and is completely flat. If I wanted to just screw something flat against the siding, I could have done that without this cheap plastic widget.Don't bother, if what you actually need is a siding trim plate.
