I really was surprised at the quality of this product. Even though it comes in 2 pieces for each of install, the pieces fit snug together and does not require any glue! It is perfect for filling the gap when installing newer ceiling fans on older homes and the bracket holder in new fans do not fit snug against the ceiling. You can cut the medallion to fit the size of the holder on the fan so removing the fan to install is not needed.

The finish was good but one side was warped so it would not easily line up with the other side. I may have been able to force the alignment by adding pins but decided to not use it.

When I ordered I hadn't realized that I would be cutting this to fit a 6" opening I was under the impression it would fit. I used a small pull saw to do the trick which required some sanding. In the end it has a half inch gap between the fixture and the center of medallion. I cut it that way because it was the easiest and cleanest way to trim it down to size. If I were to do this again I would have definitely gotten out a jig saw. My grand idea was to use Command Strips to adhere it to the ceiling but I don't think that is going to be a permanent solution as they really don't want to stick to the medallion. I'll figure it out eventually.
