Your cart is empty.Our ceiling medallion collections are modeled after original historical patterns and designs. Our artisans then hand carve an original piece. Being hand carved each piece is richly detailed with deep relief, sharp lines, and a truly unique touch. That master piece is then used to create a mould master. Once the mould master is created we use our high density urethane foam to form each medallion. The finished look is a beautifully detailed, light weight, solid construction, focal piece. The resemblance to original plaster medallions is achieved only by using our high density urethane and not vacuum formed, "plastic" type medallions. - Medallions can be cut using standard woodworking tools to add a hole for electrical or a ceiling fan canopy. - Medallions are light weight for easy installation. - They are fully primed and ready for your paint. These are so easy to install and light weight. I’ve purchased 3 so far with no issues. The size is just what I needed being on the larger size compared to others which is what I like. It also just happens to match our ceiling color already so I got lucky and didn’t even have to paint at all. The value for the money is good in my opinion compared to others I explored. A few of my ceiling light holes were large and the light base didn’t cover so this offered coverage as well as style.

This medallion was easy to install with some construction adhesive and painters tape. I like that this one was foam, not plastic, and was sturdy, not flimsy. It looks great after caulking and painting. The light fixture canopy helps hold the medallion on while it dries. My canopy was 5†and fit perfectly over the inner ring of the medallion.

Arrived packaged well and in perfect condition. The size is a great accent to our lighting fixtures. The material is sturdy and out weighs in value. I can’t speak to the install process because we had it professionally installed but it seems straight forward install.

I went through a mind-boggling number of ceiling medallion designs before settling on the Melonie from Ekena Millwork. I was looking for a medallion that had a little bit of detail without being overly flowery/Grecian looking, which would not have fit the minimal Colonial style of the rest of the trim in my house. While egg-and-dart or a totally plain circular style would technically have been the most historically accurate for the period, I wanted something that would play off the modern/Midcentury globe light that would hang from the medallion, and this design was the right balance between statement and restraint. It was far more lightweight than I expected - the weight of styrofoam - which was a blessing because it took a lot of arm power to hold up the fixture as well as the medallion while simultaneously doing the wiring! I did have to drill holes in the medallion to accommodate the width between the screws from the junction box plate, which was as easy as cutting through butter, and was covered up by the fixture itself. I didn't follow the instruction to use construction adhesive to stick the medallion to the ceiling, because I would need to remove it if I ever needed to change the light fixture in the future, but I did use latex caulk around the edge of the medallion (not pictured here) to make it look more built in to the original architecture. I also painted the medallion with the same semi-gloss paint as the rest of the trim in my house, before putting it up.

Such a beautiful ceiling medallion. It’s not plastic. It’s super lite foam. It has white material over it which makes it really pretty. I didn’t have to paint it which buying it, I thought that’s what I’ll have to do.

If your planning a project this is a great project, but their shipping times are terrible up against other of the same companies.My my last order said free delivery Juli26 to August 10.
