I had a pretty pricey German electric Salt and Pepper grinder set by Zwilling. They worked so well (for the short time they worked). I loved how the pepper was also crushed and smeared in a way that it released the pepper oils. Changed the way we ate! First the pepper grinder died for no reason- then the salt. I contacted the company multiple times and multiple ways- they never once responded to me Because of this I’ve been nervous to buy a new set- even a cheap set- since I doubted it would have the ability to squeeze out that pepper oil. But I found this set on sale and I took the plunge. I got it hours later and it was so easy to fill, use, set up and charge. The pepper comes out nicely also! I’m very very pleased that I found and bought this set- it’s been working perfectly. If it starts breaking down soon- I’ll be sure to update, but so far so good!

EDIT-- We've had these for a while (two sets) and I am AMAZED at how long the charge lasts. The set used for the rescue gets used frequently, and has gone months before I charged it, and I am not really sure it needed the charge. I am really impressed with these!These work great. I bought one set for grinding pepper for a grain casserole I bake for the parrots at the bird rescue I work at. I liked them so much I bought a second set for the my own cooking! They seem to run for a long time on each charge. The base is a nice place to park them when not in use, even if you don't plug it in for charging. They adjust from a very fine powder to a coarse chunky grind, by turning the adjustment several times. The grinding is very smooth yet quiet. The only downside is the fill space is a little smaller than my manual grinders, but I understand you need space for batteries and motor so that's okay! I love that they charge by USB - no buying and replacing batteries! Well packed for shipping, sleek and attractive when sitting on the counter. Highly recommend! -- Dee

My grinder just stopped working. Even charged it for the 3.5 hours it requires but no luck! Not happy.Update: I was contacted by the company who replaced my grinder right away and again I have a great pepper grinder! Thank you!

I absolutely love these! It’s a shame it didn’t come with a plug in adapter though. But besides that these work like a charm and very easy to use.

This seemed like a very smart design that solves some problems I've had with other electric grinders. Unfortunately, the quality is suspect and there are some characteristics that were poorly thought out. The first set we received seemed to work okay. The pepper grinder was weak and not grinding well. So I plugged it in again, since the charging process doesn't make a lot of sense. When you plug it in, the top light glows green... but it glows green if the battery is empty and glows green if it is done charging. It doesn't blink or anything like that. It's ALWAYS SOLID GREEN, so you have no idea when it's charged or not. The grinder still was weak so I sent for a replacement. The replacement arrived dead. It lights up green when plugged in (which means nothing) but nothing happens when you invert it. I tried to return it, but I can only request a replacement once. So that leaves me with 2 defective units out of 2 orders. The salt grinder works, and is awesome for the most part. The main benefit of this design is that other models have the charging contacts and grinder on the bottom, so salt/pepper/spices gum up the contacts and they won't charge anymore. This model has the USB-C port on the side, so no charging issues, aside from the horrible green light notification fail. Another benefit of this model is that it has a large capacity jar, with is super easy to fill. However, it also comes with a downside to the design. It isn't very smart or intuitive as the grinder has a lock/unlock feature by twisting the top half. Not sure why you would need this... maybe if you are moving and don't won't it turning on when inverted? Well if you turn it too much, the top falls off and the bottom assembly falls, with spices going everywhere. When you want to refill the spice container, you do the same counter clockwise twist that unlocks the top half, so it's easy to twist off the wrong portion of the grinder. Even with these design flaws, I would probably still love the overall design if the pepper grinder we received actually worked...

So far so good. Battery life appears to be sufficient. I appreciate the charging instead of batteries. Design is nice, i do however accidentally hit the button when im moving/cleaning the table. But thats not reason to complain. Not very loud either, which is nice. The speed is great and the size of grains after is perfect. The cap for refilling is a little tricky sometimes

No buttons, no twisting required, just upturn and they operate. Excellent quality..
