This is one of those tools that most people wouldn't buy because it's something you rarely need, but as I have learned over the years, weird tools like this can be indispensable... a lifesaver even when you are working on something. I appreciate something like this especially in the winter when I am wrenching on something in the cold: the last thing I want to do is have to take my gloves off and use my cold numb fingers to try to release the little plastic tabs for the couplers (only to usually end up breaking them because they are so brittle from the cold). This tool is great for this as you can easily remove most of these tabs quickly as easily without breaking them.Most people probably don't need something like this, but it sure comes in handy for me.

So often you need to have that extra single-purpose tool in the toolbox in order to get the job done, and this is one of those tools. It will provide you with that "extra set of hands" to get those pesky locking tabs out of the way, particularly in those tight hard to reach places.The spring-loaded open action is a must have, but I also wish the tool had a positive lock on it to hold this tool closed when in the toolbox. Not worth deducting one star IMO, but I wish it was there ;-)

I'd say the quality is better than what I would get at harbor freight. Not bad

This tool makes it easy to remove single-latch connectors in autos, appliances, and electronics. The jaw has notches for different-size connectors to securely hold the connector while the other side depresses the latch, allowing you to pull the connector straight out.Homeowner/handyman quality, it should last a long time for occasional uses. If you use it every day professionally, it may last a year.

I frequently have to disconnect various connectors on machinery, the usual Deutsch connectors. Some come loose easy but a handful of them can be pretty tight. These with very well off pressing in the tab and the teeth are enough to bite in and allow separation of the connector when you pull it. I'm not crazy about the spring but it can be removed if I decide I really don't like it. Anyway, I happy with the tool and it'll save my fingers.

This tool is a bonus buy for most not needed to disassemble most connectors. But the one time you need something to open the connector it pays for itself in spades. On the other hand if you are getting on and have been living by your hands then this tool can save your hands along with the sticky connector. I note the spring action of the plier is smooth and the machining right.

I don't know how many times I've stabbed myself in the hand with a flat head screwdriver trying to pry tabs open on electrical connectors while holding the wire in some precarious position, and then I get worried that I'm going to break something trying to pull the two ends apart... these pliers are so much better than all that. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they could be polished/finished a bit more to help them resist rusting, but they are honestly a great value for what they're charging for these.

Just working smarter, not harder. I wouldn't call these a fix-all solution as I still haven't been able to use them successfully on some types of plugs, but they make things much faster and easier most of the time. Very easy to use, and likely to save countless broken lock tabs on weather plugs.
