I love these meters, I've been using 10 of them for over a year all over my house and garage. The setup is easy with Tuya / SmartLife, they can handle tons of current (3000W), and the overcurrent/overvoltage/overpower alarms are really handy. They've never once failed, glitched out, or failed to pair. If wifi or power goes down or disconnects they re-connect seamlessly and quickly, and don't lose any data or make any annoying beeping noises. The overcurrent/overvoltage alarms trigger quickly and reliably, and have already saved me from blowing my breaker a few times. The native app is easy and straightforward with no ads/funny business, and it is possible to connect them to Home Assistant too (the open source / self-hosted IoT platform that runs on a Raspberry Pi).You need to install Home Assistant, HACS, Tuya (or TuyaLocal) on a Raspberry Pi, and the SmartLife or Tuya apps on your phone, and then connect the phone to Tuya's IoT cloud. These are the relevant instructions:- Home Assistant > Integrations > Tuya (I cant post URLs or the review will get taken down)- Github > tuya > tuya-home-assistant > docs > supported_devices.mdCurrent/Voltage/Power and switch state import automatically, other sensors values can be loaded manually by digging through the Data Points, I haven't managed to identify them yet so it takes some trial and error. If you do figure out which DP is which value, please share them in the supported devices list linked above.

Provides lots of data and seems anecdotally accurate. Took a little reading and re-reading of instructions to get it connected to phone, but once done, has been easy to use.

It’s calculating the watts incorrectly. It’s about 50% less than it should be.

I got 6 of these. Wi-Fi connect to monitor electric usage. I have used these for months now and been able to lower my electric bill and has made me aware of electricity conservation. I watch what is on and I am saving money and saving electricity. They have so many other compatible devices to add like cameras IR/RF etc.

The meter works fine, including the Wi-Fi. The software leaves something to desire. Perhaps Home Assistant local will address these issues.

I use this meter to remotely monitor power consumption on my iPhone. It works great.

This is a NEW review to address my previous review below. The first unit I purchased was not working properly out of the box, and I returned this item. The second unit I ordered - I know, glutton for punishment... but the only logical reason was that the first unit was defective - worked instantly and perfectly right out of the box. Set up was as it should have been, easy peasy.I am now using it to test appliances around my house to see what items are inefficient and using more electricity than they should be. The added bonus of these wifi units is they transmit the data to your Smart Life (or Tuya) app so you can keep an eye on what's going on - and you can turn the appliance on/off or set a schedule for this to happen.==========One star reviewI was hoping to have a power meter wifi socket - looks great, but absolutely impossible to get this to connect to our Wifi using the SmartLife app, also does not work with the Tuya app.I tried dozens of times myself to get this to connect and failed. After over an hour’s help with a Telus tech agent and using 2.4G it’s still impossible to connect. Tried many times more and still does not connect.I give up!!! I’m not tech stupid either, and have had instant success with all of our numerous other smart devices. This one just does not work in Wifi.Very disappointing.

It started a fire while unattended. Luckily my other electrical products are high quality so the fire didn't spread beyond the socket. I had to use a knife to cut off the molten plastic before being able to remove it.it was good while it worked but....electrical fire is such a serious concern it outweighs all merits this product offered.
