I have EV passive Backbone series tops and bottoms pushed by two crown amps in my warehouse. The dual 15’s and dual 18’s thump!I decided to purchase the EV ETX 15p’s and have nothing but quality sound until blew one of them.I talked to several of my DJ buddies about how I was running the speakers from my controller and this was a problem I totally caused myself.Call EV (Bosh) and they will answer any questions as well about how the speakers should be set up.I have 8 ETX 15p’s and one ETX 18sp in my house entertainment area. I recommend EV ETX series!

These speakers are the top of their point source line. They hit limit way too fast. Sound is ok but they don’t have the headroom of volume output capacity you would expect from them.

First of all, all these reviews here are muddled up. Some are for the covers, some are for the etx subs. This is for the ETX15p full range cabinet. I don't know what all these people are raving about. Yes, they sound beautiful. No question about it. Beautiful rich sound. But they can't be pushed. They limit way too quickly for ev's "top of the line" in portables. I think these are all paid reviews. I'm very disappointed with EV. The limiting thing really irks me. I've been a loyal EV customer for years. I'm leaving EV. I'm going to QSC,RCF or Yorkville. My ELX115s limit too quickly, my ELX118 subs limit too quickly.... now these. Enough is enough. I'm in a bar/club for Chirst's sake, not an areana. Incidentally, I still have a set of EV SXA250s from 2003. They crank! and I've never seen the limit light. I may go back to passive. I hate amp racks but those lights on the macrotechs NEVER came on.Listen to me folks, I am convinced that the culprit with these speakers and speakers like them is the "convection" cooling. Do you know what that means? That's code for "no fan" It means that the manufacturer relies on the movement of the woofer to move air around the inside of the cabinet and cool down the amps. Guess what? It doesn't work folks. The amps get hot and shut down. QSC? internal fan, you can shred them and no limiting, Yorkville? Internal fan, my friend shreds them, and no limit light. How's that for a review?

These speakers are extremely loud and clean sounding. They also produce zero ear fatigue even at high volume which impressed me a lot! Other brands like QSC will proved comparable loudness but will sound much more distorted at the same loudness levels. If you just want to make a lot of loud noise these speakers are not for you. However if you want high quality audiophile performance while pumping out extremely loud levels of volume these are the only speakers that can produce that in this price range/class. Some reviewers on the Internet have complained about the built-in overload protection. These complaints are unfounded unless they bought a defective speaker. I have tested the overload protection and it does NOT stop you from pushing the speakers to their maximum capacity. In fact the overload protection prevents you from pushing the speakers beyond their maximum capacity which is exactly what you want if you want to have reliable performance over many years of use. If you like to live on the edge and you don't mind spending money on expensive repairs or replacements, there are many other options out there. Bottom line is that these speakers are worth the price and they out perform popular brands that many other like (QSC). Anyone who disagrees is likely to think that they don't mind distortion, ear fatigue and sub-par sound for the sake of a little (very little) more volume. These type of people like to think that it's ok to push a speaker beyond its limits... News Flash, it's not ok and you lose sound quality in a very noticeable way (even non-audiophiles will notice). FYI I have 23 years of mobile sound experience, tried it all, seen it all, and I highly recommend these speakers!

Product is a complete garbage, don't ever buy it !!! Speakers of every other brand at that price are better. The brand belongs to Bosch, Bosch should stick to make drills and other tools, they know nothing about making speakers. Such a horrible product, the sound quality is really garbage at that price

First off, it's about the ONLY speaker still made in the USA. They use American made Eminence drivers (unless they use their in house drivers in a design) and these are wooden boxes. No rattles, box bleed, buzzes, and they're tough. The HF is very accurate and quick. They are loud and powerful, so IF you are clipping them or distorting them, you are either square -waving them at the source (bad gain structure, BAD files) OR you're giving them too much LF. It's just a 15", high-pass it if you want it cranked and feed that LF to a bank of subs.Class D amp draws very little current and the box weighs only 61#, can pick it up with one arm.The amp allows you to combine a stereo source (great for a key wedge) and the DSP factory settings actually work well. Has a 7.5 degree down-fire pole mount for tall stages, really helpful in some auditoriums. Some real world audio engineers went to work on this design and it shows. It keeps up with my high pedigree powered boxes (KV-2, dB Technologies) with 1.4" HF drivers in them. Good stuff. I own 12 now and have had zer0 problems with them. Not a blown driver, not an overheated amp, nothing but great performance. I have had to straighten a dented grill or two......................big deal.
