Works great! My house is 400 feet from the sensor so I’m pleased it can send the signal that far. Loud, easy to install, motion sensor catches anything in my driveway but doesn’t get set off by wind like my old one, very few false alarms

This alarm performs better than my previous one and has a longer range. I appreciate the variety of sounds available, as it adds a bit of enjoyment when it activates. There have been some false alarms caused by wandering deer, but so far, there have been no wind-related alarms from blowing trees and weeds.

This may not be the least expensive driveway alert system, but it does work well (so far). I installed it about a month ago. In the woods, where my driveway winds through. The leaves are gone, now that it is winter, so there is sunlight. I charged it up via the USB charger before installing it. That is something that is not clear in the description: You can (and probably should) fully charge it before installing outside. It can be charged like any other electrical device that charges via a USB port. Supposedly, even if there is no sunlight available to charge the battery, it will stay operational for many months if you first charge it via USB.The car detection works fine. A few other things get detected -- such as deer (I assume, since I really can't see what is being detected). But the non-car detections have been few.Set-up is easy. You have about 30 alert sounds to choose from, and you have to pick one. You can scroll through them to hear each one before picking. You can change it to use another sound at any time later. The sounds that are provided are a bit limited, and some people will be dissatisfied with the options. I do not like the "ding-dong" doorbell sound -- because it is too confusing to have to distinguish it from my normal doorbell. So, this option is sort of ridiculous in my opinion, when most doorbells have the "ding-dong" sound. There is no simple "buzzer" sound -- which my previous alert had used. I have no need for the "back door", "side yard", etc. pronouncements (which are only useful if you set up multiple detectors.)I just wanted a sound that I could definitely identify as "car driving up my driveway". There are only a few options available, once the stupid ones are eliminated. I picked the "Adams Family" theme song -- which just plays a few bars. It's fine for my purposes. So, this alert system works well, and I can't yet say how well the solar charging works. My down-grading to 4 stars is only because of the limited number of good sound-alert options available. The ability to send signal through the forest is perfectly good at 700 ft (or, it may be more ft).

I love this sensor! We’ve been using it for over a year now and it’s still going strong. We have a gate over our driveway and our house is set a little ways back so we don’t always know if someone is at our gate - except this little device chimes anytime someone pulls up to our gate. Never misses a beat. So if Amazon delivers at our gate, we know. If a neighbor comes by and is at our gate, we know. When my husband comes homes from work, I know he’s home…before he even gets to the house. It’s great! It has different sounds and levels of volume. I would definitely buy it again.

5 Stars; no big problems since 2019 when I bought 2. I observed any problems with water penetration of units. The plastic did crack eventually at one screw hole. I think that the plastic is slowly deteriorating by UV from the sun; so I suppose ideally one would paint the plastic w/ UV stopper paint. But this is an unusually good consumer product, as it is faithful, the sensor is powered by solar, & the receiver can be powered either with 4 AA batteries or a supplied power supply (5 volt USB type). The same supplied power supply which gives intitial charge to the sensor unit, also will power the alarm units. After initially charging the sensor unit, the built in solar panel provides the rest of the powering for the sensor unit. When I bought this the separate receivers cost about $50, I decided to go ahead & by a 2nd transmitter/receiver combo; they don't list a sensor-transmitter with 2 receivers as a package unfortunately. I bought 2 morerecently & found that the sensor + alarm package was not that much more than buying a separate sensor. At first, I wanted one receiver for inside & one outside to scare off intruders. It would have been more convenient for me if they had included self-tapping sheet metal screws for installation, as what they provided proved not of high enough quality to penetrate easily a pre-drilled hole in a steel fence hollow rod. The first night I installed the sensor at about 2 feet off the ground , it went off apparently for sensing a cat. Then I changed location of the sensor-transmitter, putting it about 5 feet off the ground, and thus far (2 days) have had no known cat activations. The ability to set the transmitter for 4 different chimes lets you use multiple transmitters in different locations with only 1 receiver; the receiver playing the selected chime for the transmitter activated. I set one chime for Lone Ranger Theme (Wm Tell Overture, & the other for 1812 Overture, as they seemed louded & most attention getting).I set a sensor receiver about 4 feet insider my yard gate on the side fence to which the gate is attached, which is about 40 feet from my front door. I put it back a bit since I did not want passing cars to set off the alarm. Then I put the receiver inside my house, on the cross bar of a window, which window has a metal screen (which I did not remove). The alarm faithfully went off inside the house & I can hear it even in a back room of my house. It even reaches attic (like 2nd floor) towards the back of my house (about 36 feet from front of house, maybe 70-80 feet from the driveway sensor, which is down hill to street. So the range of the RF from sensor to alarm is really good for my purpose. I can now hear the alarms when I am in my study on 2nd floor at rear of my home. At the entrance of my driveway, 1812 overture is set off. As person walks up my driveway, Lone Ranger goes off. When they reach the gate of my inner perimeter fence, I get both alarms. So I get an idea as to where the visitor is.Now nobody needs to ring any door bell. Now it is hard for a delivery person to falsely say he came on Sunday with an Amazon delivery & nobody was home (when we were home). These great units remove the need for a door bell.Maybe I will set up an ooga horn to go off at night if somebody enters my castle grounds, but I don't think they make an ooga variety.

Bought these for my mother in law who lives alone. We installed it on the driveway and the two gates. I set it for a different sound for each. Now she can look and see who is pulling in or coming into the yard Gives here some piece of mind. She has been using it for about three years and they still work as promised.

We purchased this alarm 4 years ago and it is still working perfectly. It is set to detect driveway traffic about 25 feet away from it, but its range extends beyond that. It even detects birds that fly past. The solar charged battery works even after a few cloudy days. The only downside is that I need to unplug the receiver in the house when my grandkids visit because it rings constantly when they’re running around outside. LOL

I was doubtful if it would be able to transmit thru a steel building, but it does with no problem. I have it mounted to detect cars coming up the lane towards my building and the receiver plugged into an outlet in side. It has to transmit thru a steel sided building and into an office and does that with no problem. It has given a few false alerts or possibly birds that have triggered it. It has 2 settings, a 20 ft and 30 ft, that I assume might be sensitivity settings so I will try to set it at a lower setting to see what happens. I only can confirm it works fine for cars, but since I do not have people coming down that lane I can't confirm how it would work for persons.

We bought this to add another sensor to our existing driveway alarm system. it took no time to set up, turned it on and it was up and running with our current system, which we think is awesome anyway.
