Your cart is empty.The BTC Control features a bass and treble equalizer on a concentric (stacked) pot. It takes up very little space and will work with any pickup, active or passive. It comes complete with knobs (including 2 extra volume knobs). BTC Controls and Systems are the most widely used bass EQ Systems in the world. Approximately 12db of cut and boost are available for bass and treble and all controls are center detent to assure quick return to normal tone settings. A dual-dip switch is mounted to the PC Board that lets you program the high end frequency response four different ways so you can choose the sound that's right for you. These systems use the latest in surface mount technology, are extremely quiet, and require very little current from a 9 Volt battery.

I was contemplating back and fourth between the BTC and the tone extender control. Once I had this installed in my Fender PJ bass, where I had already installed a set of EMG PJ pickups with “passive†tone control, it became very obvious the second I plugged the bass in, how much more versatile and “alive†this active BTC tone control made my bass sound. I had to modify my bass a little bit to make this control fit, but I don’t regret my decision for one single second. To me, this is how a bass should sound. I also love to versatility of this tone shaping gem! Rolling back the otherwise slightly boosted bass control and increasing the treble just a hint makes this bass go from deep end rock bass to pristine sounding jazz and/or funk bass.Sweet!

Only good for fenders or similar basses since input jack is too short. Didn't get to use so no opinion on sound. Too bad.

Am using it in an OLP 5-string with Nordstrand pickups. I wish I could boost the bass just a *little* bit more sometimes, and sometimes I wish I could cut the treble a bit more as well. Otherwise it sounds good tonally and is quite easy to install.The knobs are a bit hinky to install, but you run into that with most aftermarket preamps so I'm not complaining.So it's not quite perfect but it just gets the job done, is easy to install, and reasonably priced. At the time anyway. :)

Great bass and treble control. I added it to my jazz bass that already had EMGs,and wow! Now I have a better sound. You won't be disappointed. Great service too.

Works great on my Jazz Bass, easy to install if you have their other controls for PU volume and tone.

This works great on my EC1000. Fits with no mod needed. Backed it up with the afterburner. Very aggressive when needed while also allowing some great tone shaping. Not just for bass. FYI….PSA…It does NOT fit in my Gibson Les Paul. Short shaft instruments only.
