The charging hose and gauge worked as intended. The length of the car-side hose was long enough that I had no trouble reading the gauge. What was not clear to me was that the car-side screw-on connector was not compatible with the fitting of my car, so I had to invest in an adapter. These worked fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018766RGY.It would have been helpful if the seller had provided a more detailed description of the fittings, or at least posted a close-up photo.

This setup is a 134 can pierce, with an r12/22 fitting. This is not an r12/22 can pierce. The listing on amazon is not complete and misleading.

I got this to charge my fridge. I had a repairman do it about 4 years ago. I must have a slow coolant leak as the max cold gradually rose over the last 4years So this time I figured I would try it myself and save some $$. I bought this hose/gauge, and I got a can of 134A from Walmart for about $6. Luckily my fridge already has a fill port, so I didn't need a special piercing valve for the coolant line.The hose works as promised. One negative - the piercing pin on the 134A can side did not retract fully, so if you screwed the can down hard it would pierce the can (solution - don't tighten the can fully until you are ready to pierce the can). I subtracted a star for that. Otherwise 5 star.The recharge process worked well and I got my fridge's freezer down to -6 (from about 28F), not quite as cold as when the pros did it(-11), but it achieved my needs. Recommended.
