My best advice is order 2 sizes up from the size worn in athletic shoes.This is the second time I’ve purchased these boots for my 11 year old grandson. He had been wearing a size 3 in these boots (1st purchase). They were getting tight in the calves and his big toe was close to the end of the boot. Still in perfect condition after two years of wear.He needed to size up. So I ordered a size 5, which is what he’s currently wearing in sneakers. They were too small. They fit almost exactly like the size 3 he currently has. I returned the 5’s and reordered a size 7. These fit perfectly. They have about a thumbs width to grow and the calf’s are perfect. They zip up without any trouble.I’ve said all that, to say this. The sizing on these boots is terrible. How can a size 5 boot fit exactly the same as a size 3? It’s not logical and it’s frustrating when trying to purchase online.Logically if he’s in a size 3 in the exact same boots, a size 5 should fit. 2 sizes larger.But if he hadn’t had the same boots, I would have reasoned a size 5 athletic shoes, size up two sizes, I’d order a size 7.These boots are a good buy. They are not real leather, but they have held up great. All the zippers and snaps work well. They look and function perfectly after 2 years of wear.Purchase and returns were easy and quickly handled. No problems at all.I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase these again!

Bought a size up for my daughter but they were still too small. The calf was made for kids with stick legs.

The shoes are good, well made however they run small. I ordered one size bigger and had to return and reorder 3 sizes bigger (2 sizes bigger would have done it but I went overboard). Anyhow if you kid wears size 1 then you should order size 3.

Boots are cute and nice quality but the issue that they run small is an understatement!! My daughter wears a 12 so I ordered a 2 from the previous reviews of running small. They just fit her snuggle and unfortunately we needed them for a show the next weekend and had to keep them. We all know how fast kids feet grow. Spot on tall boots for kids MUST work on sizing guide to help us parents that are spending a fortune on these young riders!!
