It doesn't feel thick or oily. You don't have to press really hard on the pad either, and the impressions came out great with little effort as well. The ink attaches to the skin very well to ensure proper marks on the document. You don't need to worry about pressing your fingers around multiple times. This prints is not the one with liquid ink on a sponge but instead a solid one. The print come out nice and sharp and it doesn’t smudge. It dries on paper pretty much instantly. A simple wet wipe was enough to easily clean the ink off all my fingers.

Great little thing to have only issue I’ve had with it is people not grasping what I’m doing or what it means but that has nothing to do with this product just the ignorance, indifference, and slowness for everyone else to wake up, but the product is great

This is not like a cheaper sponge and ink this is nice ink in a little compact container.The ink dries quickly and did not smudge on the paper.We used it for a science class where were observed our finger prints. Worked great for kids.The ink washed off the kids hands easily with a wipe.
