Has a soft consistency and doesn't have tons of pieces of twigs and bark in the mix. We planted some stock and the seedlings came up pretty quick.

I started trying to grow some dwarf tomatoes indoors and I was having just the hardest time getting them to grow with other soil products. Got a bag of the seed starter and they seem to love it. They’ve grown bigger and stronger than any other starter soil I’ve tried. Highly recommend.

I have used a lot of different seed starting mixes but this was one of the worst. It was bone dryand nearly impossible to rehydrate after filling my seed trays. The bad said even better moisture retention so i assumed it had a wetting agent added — but it did not. I like to bottom water my seed trays but you will be totally frustrated with this mix because it’s so hydrophobic that it does NOT wick up water, even when sitting it very warm tray of 1†deep water. I added more hot water and even added YuccaWet which only made a slight improvement. My seed trays literally floated for over 90 mins when I began top watering by scooping the water and pouring on top — it looked like an oil slick and struggled to seep in. So after 2.5 hours and watering from both sides, it still did NOT absorb to the middle of a 2.5†seed tray! Do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and AVOID THIS MIX and try one with a proven wetting agent added, like HOFFMAN’S — which will completely wick a dry seed tray from the bottom in minutes, Not Hours

I like Espoma but am disappointed with service with Amazon. They sent the wrong product and I have been waiting for replacement for 6 days.

Well packed for shipping. Arrived quicker than expected. Soil is a nice dark colour, light in texture, and smells clean and earthy. My seeds began sprouting 3 days after planting, and are growing well. It's everything I had hoped for so will order again.
