Excited for this awesome hammer. Love the orange so it's not so easy to lose and is different than the other people in my group. Seems really well made to me. Saw the other reviews about the shaft bending, but I can't think of how much force that would take. More than I could do I think, unless there was a manufacturing defect, but mine looks amazing and has already whacked up some rocks. Love it.

So far I've used it to crack some geodes and other stones and to pry rocks up that were impacted into the dirt to bring home. I am a rockhounder and my old one got misplaced, so it felt good to have this sturdy rockhammer back in my hand, ready for day trips here in Arizona.

I got this tool as a gift for my mother, the true rockhound of the family. She was a bit skeptical at first, but now? She raves about it every time I talk to her. She uses it for everything. Digging for rocks. Cracking rocks. All the regular stuff rockhounds do - PLUS!!!! -- She uses it clean the mud off the wheels of her Polaris side by side (gotta get to those rockhounding places). She uses it to dig mud and rocks out of the tracks and bucket of my sister's excavator. This has the Mother's seal of approval!

Bought this for when I have to travel by plane when going for a rockhounding adventure. I trust the brand name for high quality products and I was looking for something under a pound in weight.

Great Rockhammer. It’s really nice. You don’t have to worry about this one interesting thing. And I’ve used it hard, and it keeps working well. I bought three of them now. And I’ve even bought one to give a friend as a present because I love them so much.

Idk how they package this hammer but mine came in a thin (padded) envelope - and the seal on the pick end broke. Maybe in transit but still it shouldn't have happened right? The handle looks somewhat dirty and crudely made. Kind of looks like someone already took this hammer to the field a few times but hasn't hit anything with it yet.

Easy to carry and use. Just the right type hammer for cracking open a rock. As all rocks are subject to weathering one cannot be sure of what they have found. This is soft on your wrist and forearm. Lighter than lugging around a four pounder in a bag. This fits safely in a canvas bag of backpack. I would wrap the poited edge so it does not puncture whatever bag you are carrying it in. It pays to carry a supply of one quart zip lock bags and a roll of white butcher labeling tape to record your finds. This hammer is not fatiguing like some. For heavier duty one will need a 3 or a 4 pound hammer, plus a rock chisel and "Goggle" of course.
