I bought this to assist in my acrylic paintings. I initially bought a projector but returned it because my shadow would get in the way. This works very well if I dim the light. I don’t use it for detail work, but it’s awesome for basic outline and placement, particularly for facial features. It has definitely improved my paintings. I have read some reviews that it was just a cheap piece of plastic, but you’re also getting software that comes with it. The software is user friendly, and I like the resizing function. It takes a nit to get used to it, but for the price, I think it’s a good buy.

I was really looking forward to using this. But I have pulled out 8x10 and quarter sheets of water color paper and it will not blow the image up enough to use. The app itself is actually worse because it gives an even smaller footprint. You are stuck with an image that is smaller than your phone or iPad. I thought there had to be a way to adjust for size but none of the things I have tried have worked. And their instructions actually only create an image smaller that the electronic surface being mirrored.I bought this to use while on the road. My home studio has a projector. I thought that since I was working smaller, this would work.Total waste of space. Use some tracing paper and print out a picture if you don’t have room for a projector. This is the biggest scam I have ever seen in the art tool world. And I am really disappointed that Etchr would sell this. I expect a lot more from a professionally aimed art company.I bought this shortly after it came to market, before anyone had really reviewed it. I trusted Etchr that much.I’m just upset with myself for not testing this before the return period was up. What a waste of money and budget.

The product works as expected, however a little pricey, but worth it for practice. Its not glass but plastic and worried it can be easily scratched.This product is enjoyable.

Definitely worth the purchase, works well with my iPad Pro and 9 x 12 paper easily. The app is awesome and has grids you can use for larger works you need to transfer.

I found that you cannot use this tool unless you have some means of powering it and getting it to download pictures to it from my computer. I could find no tutorial and thus this product is unusable. Too bad...I love the idea.

After having the etcher for some time, I have to take back my 5 star review. First of all this is not easy. If your trying to trace a pattern good luck, because a majority of the time the pattern you want to trace is not clear,and yes I do have everything in the right position. My advice don't waste your money. It's a whole lot easier if you use your own printer, or buy one. You will save yourself a lot of grief. I'm sure this is good for kids but for detailed patterns forget it.

My husband ordered this because he works on leather and sometimes buys pdf's for tracing and thought this would come in handy. He travels in his job so I opened this for him and I was shocked!!! $50 bucks for this cheap piece of plastic, say it isn't so. I tried it so I could give him an idea of how it worked and talk about NOT such a good deal. I think this needs to go back. Don't spend your hard earned money, there are a lot of similar products for much less money. I'm sure they're probably the same, how hard could it be to copy cat this. No, NO! NO! It is so flimsy that a small mishap would do this in, even putting the so called "mirror" is iffy, the slot it fits into is tight and if not careful the thing would easily break in half. Ay Vay!

I am changing my review based on some excellent customer service from Etchr over the Christmas period and as a result the issue I had being down to an important thing for others to note. When we opened the mirror it showed two tabs, one for each sides protective film. the first came off and was the same as many other electronic products that have a protective i.e a phone. This case off easily and so we tried the second tab but the tab just came off to give the impression there was no second film. The mirror also showed what looked like bad scratches and marks as so I complained. Etchr asked me to double check for the second film, which genuinely did not appear to be on there (i had already checked). However, I gave it another go carefully with a sharp object and found there was indeed a second film cover, very different to the other side and more tightly wrapped, flush to the edges so almost undetectable. Once removed the mirror was spotless and unblemished, completely as expected. The whole thing including packaging is of high quality and it really does the job. Really impressed and even more impressed with the customer service received, very helpful and willing to help even over Christmas....amazing and so nice. Would highly recommend and advice against cheaper copies.

Très déçue, l’application ne prévient pas qu’elle a un nombre d essais limités et qu’il fallait garder le QR pour l’activer dans la notice... je ne peux plus utiliser l’application. La plaque bouge beaucoup...

I bought this because I thought spending more money than other versions would mean good quality. When it arrived, there was only protective covering on one side and it came really scratched. Might as well have paid a quarter of the price.
