It works the way it's supposed to, but I'm afraid people will think it does something it doesn't do. It's not a router or a switch, so you can't split off two ethernet cables and expect them to both to function the way you'd expect. If you're only using the data signal one way, it will be fine. But don't expect communication.I don't like that it requires an external power source, yet doesn't come with one. It also doesn't (to my knowledge) tell you what type of power source you need (voltage/current - god help you if you say amperage).

I really like the small for factor of this switch. It’s easy to hide and that fact that it’s USB powered (power supply not included) means it can be powered by many devices that have USB ports. I’m using mine with a home theater system and the receiver has a USB outlet already. I think this is a great option for gamers as well. Easy to use, plug and play, no issues with streaming quality.

Works great for all three of our computers they each get a stable connection speed and work well while all three are using the ethernet. Its nice and compact so easy to maintain cable management.Feels sturdy and could hold up to accidentally getting stepped on great value all in all.

The good, virtually self power using the 5V USB power. So, that made it easy to power up from the PC.It does not run as hot as I expected, so it is low power consumption. I try to transfer a 20 GB file between two PC's, the connection speed indicated as GB on both PC. The problem is the transfer rate will drop to 5KB periodically. I replace it with a TPLink 5 port switch, the transfer rate is steady about the same speed on both. So, I just unsure why, maybe it is just a one off problem?

I use this all the time when setting up new computers to transfer the data from the old PC via the network. The 100/1000 and ability to use Cat5-Cat8 cabling makes it very versatile. 1 in and 3 out, no loss of speed due to three connections. Essentially a 3-port switch. Comes with a power charger and cable.
