I came back to buy more of these after a recent power outage. I purchased the original set to put under the angel on top of our Christmas tree to light her after her lighting system failed. The mini lanterns looked better than the lights she came with.After a recent multi day power outage, I pulled these out and they were the standout winner of all other lighting sources. Fully open, they light a good sized room. You can adjust them down to almost a nightlight wattage or a very bright lantern if needed. They are lightweight and can be clipped to a beltloop or lanyard if you need to carry things. Hang them in the bathroom and they produce enough light that you can shower or get ready without constantly adjusting the light.I used them a lot over three days and didn't have to replace the batteries while the recharegeable lanterns were worthless when they died after the first day. No power, no way to easily charge them. Candles work, but it was very hot and humid and the candles only added to the miserable heat. Plus, I have a nosey cat with a long puffy tail and he was curious about the candles so I had to put them up really high to keep him from setting himself and the house on fire.I see some people say in their reviews that the light is too bright. The lanterns can be easily adjusted to the level of the light needed. I love these lanterns and am still using one daily in a small glass candle holder with a handle that I brought at the Dollar Store. I can use it on my deck and it doesn't seem to attract bugs plus it makes gorgeous patterns through the glass.10/10 will buy over and over. I'm buying one to hide in each room and in every car.

These pack a punch considering how small they are! They are easy to palm. Bottom is flat so you can set it on a table. While being able to hang it on a hook is nice, the hanger get in the way a bit. You can pull one side of the hanger out to slip it through a loop -if needed.Because the light is intense, I would use caution giving it to a young child. You know kids!I wrapped a strip of reflective tape around the body because it has a dull, matte black, light-eating finish, making it hard to find them in the dark.While bright enough for closets or small rooms (like bathrooms), they definitely don't do much for large rooms or sheds. They throw enough light to help you avoid running into things, but that's about it. For finding things in a shed, you'll definitely need to use it as a flashlight, rather than a lantern.TIP: While you do need to cycle through the settings every time you turn it on/off, if you just gently press the button you can do it quickly and with little effort.I might have to get more for our cars. Flash mode would be a perfect for unfortunate circumstance.All of ours worked. Don't forget you need to open the battery compartment first to remove the paper disc protecting the batteries.

The front that twists to pop-up into lantern mode is a little finicky sometimes...overall, it's not a problem. It's a bright little light and serves it's purpose well.

This is a pretty good flashlight with a lantern mode and flashlight. One thing I will say about this product is that it does come with the three triple a batteries you need to power the flashlights. They are already preinstalled and all you need to do is just remove the plastic cover blocking the connection. The flashlights are pretty sturdy. I would say it holds up pretty well as a directional flash light. It is bright and great for emergencies and such. The lantern part is bright but it definitely will not light up more than a corner of the room. It is really meant for in my opinion table top lighting. You can use the hook to say put it above your tent or such but it will not light up right below it as the main unit is blocking it. You can turn it into a lantern by twisting the top and pulling the light up. I would say as well that the product does fit well in my pocket. I have had no issues with it. The battery life will vary based on how long you use it for. It does not have rechargeable batteries. I would say however if it is not in use for long term to just flip the battery around to stop energy flow. The flashlight also does have an sos function. It is just a light tap to the power button to turn that on. The flash light is pretty well built and could withstand a drop here or there. Overall this is a great flash light to have for trips or emergencies.

I use the larger ones on the picnic table and/or hang them from tree branches. These smaller flashlight/lanterns I use mainly inside the tent. Two of them hang from the roof of the tent - lantern-style - and one sits on the small table next to my cot - flashlight-style - for late night pee-runs.Compact and lightweight, yet effectively bright. I've already purchased 4 of these mini flashlight/lanterns. Now I'm trying to decide if I should buy 4 more, or just go ahead and buy 8 more. I mean, for the price, you can't go wrong. Excellent little light fir camping. Hang in the tent as a latern, bright enough to read with or plan next days route. Useful as a torch to find a suitable spot for the nighttime "pit stop".
