I'm guessing the original pumps had a material or design flaw. The insides looks different with much more spring pressure found when attaching, tightening to the motor. I hope this last much longer then the original.

Item missing key parts for replacement….. seal, screws. Box looks like it was a return at one point and instead of inspecting inventory of item they just shipped it back out as is ……. Had to use old parts off pump. Not surprised, just hooked up new pump, Does not work….. DO NOT BUY !!!

This item arrived and I didn't have time to install or test it right away and when I finally did have time it didn't work straight out of the box. And you would know that my return window had already closed. My fault for not checking it immediately but you expect a brand new item to work. The solenoid will not pull in and even bypassing the solenoid and trying to get the pump to run without it wouldn't work. The motor itself wouldn't work either. I'm pretty sure that I recieved someone else's returned pump. Zero stars if I could go that low. That's the last time I'll buy one of these.

I bought this head to replace one on a pump that lasted two seasons -- the rubber valves curled and the pump would not work properly -- in the U.S. parts are available and would have cost less than $10 -- in Canada you either replace the pump or the head for much more than that!

Did not realize when I ordered this pump it did not have fittings but a quick attach setup that you need to purchase somewhere else although the serial # is the same as my previous model with a qa on the end . Have looked everywhere for these fitting at the stores the company recommended . No luck
