I had previously expressed some concerns about this product, and I've found that customer service is very resonsive and helpful. This is my 4th pellet smoker and I am impressed because it is portable but has that bit of expansion when needed. The expandable design of this pellet grill is promising and clever. You get a very portable pellet grill/smoker in a very small, but expandable, footprint.Overall, this is more expensive than the AC electric only portable pellet grills, but it's competitive with the portables that have a battery. It offers the added feature of being able to expand the lid so that you can fit a roast inside (which you can't really do with the others of the same size.)I have addressed some concerns below. As stated in another review, the fan cycles on and off very rapidly, and it's not clear to that author why. The fan seems to cycle to balance the temperature. If it needs a large change (such as when starting the fire), it stays constantly on. If you open the lid after temperature has been reached and let out enough heat, the fan will cycle on and off until the set temperature has been reached. The battery is non-standard. The seller has indicated that they will have replacement batteries soon. Heat distribution is uneven, even though a clever heat distributor is underneath. I have yet to find a pellet grill with perfectly even heat distribution. Moving the food around solves the problem. The drip tray doesn't always send grease to the collector, resulting in a very crusty drip tray, but it turns out that it is easily cleaned.

10/20/24: I just received this grill and am planning my first cook with it later this week. In the meantime, I wanted to provide some quick unboxing photos and will be updating this review as I go through the burn in and first use in the coming days. For background, I own 2 large Traeger pellet grills, a large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer, numerous Blackstone griddles, Ninja Woodfire grill and many, many others. I'm not new to grilling and I do have high expectations for any new grill I acquire. This little grill caught my eye for all the reasons you're probably reading this review, most notably portability and battery power...plus, it's a pellet grill! Like you, I looked at the Traeger Ranger, Pit Boss and others, and like anything and everything here on Amazon, they all had mixed reviews, from those who love them to the usual slate of detractors. At the time of this review, the Exit Fire'n'Go is so new that very few reviews are available. I found some on YouTube, but not a lot of in-depth discussion on the strengths and weaknesses. One person even had a video saying this could be used indoors or outdoors. Nope...this is OUTDOORS ONLY.I'll say that mine arrived in perfect condition. No damage to the box or its contents...YAY! It is well packaged and the overall look and design of the product says volumes to me about the amount of creativity and innovation it's designers put into it. If Apple Computer were to design a grill, this would be it. The battery had about 25% charge and is charging as I type. It uses a standard 5v USB cable. The Exit Fire'n'Go also comes with a 110 power brick, but for my first tests I'll be using the battery (of course)! From the fold out top allowing both expansion of the cooking chamber and economy of space for storage when collapsed, to the fold down legs, side handles, beautiful LED readout, tactile dial and more, this grill just makes me smile. It really is a work of art and will undoubtedly elicit ooohhhsss and ahhhsss at the next camp cookout.I can tell at first light, this is the one all of us who love to travel, camp, tailgate, etc. have been waiting for. Everything from the grill grate to the drip tray are solid, well finished and fit perfectly. Nothing is oddly shaped, warped or funky. It's top shelf all the way and that puts a huge smile on my face, while at the same time providing a great deal of relief for this self-admitted grill snob. So much so, I'm feeling brave enough to take the box to recycling. So with that, I'll close until I get the first cook underway and will report as soon as complete with additional photos and comments.

I was excited on arrival, this was going to be my travel smoker/grill. I previously used a GMG for travel. I use a Zgrill and Monument grill at home.Looks great and easy to assemble. Tested day one and came up to temp fine. This morning, blower is cycling on and off rapidly and battery only lasted two hours. Plugged into AC and same blower cycling. Unit seems to burn through pellets faster than normal and with a small hopper, requires a lot of babysitting. Reached out to customer service. Very friendly, but want me to send unit to them BEFORE sending me a new unit. I'm on vacation so that won't work. I'll probably just return through here and get a different brand.

Grill works well. It would be nice if it had Bluetooth to monitor the grill and/the food probe

Very nice light portable pellet grill. Super easy to use. Love that it is battery operated and easy to use in the middle of a big parking lot. Recommended.
