I don't have a door leading to my basement. I've been using chairs and other odds and ends to keep my two large dogs from going and ruining my basement. They broke through baby gates, they push the chairs down the stairs, it's been awful - if you have dogs, you know what I mean.I put this gate in front of the doorway to the stairs, I only secured the end without wheels, and it WOW... no more broken chairs, no more dogs in my basement, no more stress... It's TALL, it's STRONG, and it requires MINIMAL assembly. It works TOO well. This is too good to be true right? This has been a life saver at my home and I am so glad I got it. Since my German shepherd and my golden retriever can break through it, I can safely recommend this!

Perfect size for my needs but rusted after 1day of rain also 2 of the fasteners is missing I’m afraid turning into a rusted $150 gate

I recently received this dog gate. I was pleased with how easy it was to assemble. I was also pleased with how well it contained my dogs in a specific area. The gate is also easy to move around if necessary. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it.

Easy to move around. Easy to close and open. Perfect for medium and large dogs. Smaller dogs can get out under the bottom. This works great.

We got this gate to cordon off an area and are pleased with the quality and sturdiness of it. I can't say how it works with dogs as ours are too small and that is not the purpose that we got it for. No issues.

If you are planning to use this expanding gate to keep a large dog in or out of a space, I think it would be a very good purchase. It is well constructed and the bronze matte powder finish is high quality. The wheels, plastic instead of rubber, could be of better quality, but they work fine. I, an adult female, can lift it, maneuver it into place without any difficulty. I ordered this gate because we have two small dogs who need to be contained in our yard when we are outdoors with them. I wanted to use this at the top of a stairway in the opening between two parts of a running fence where a permanent gate is impractical. I can probably figure out a way to attach some sort of weighted mesh to the bottom of this expandable gate each time I set it up—in fact, I will have to if I continue to use it. Both small dogs have now demonstrated that they can easily get under this gate when it is in place. The open space below the crisscrossed lattice remains consistent across the width of this gate, no matter what the extension length. Our toy poodle walks under the gap—ducks her head only slightly.The gate comes with most of it assembled in advance. I put the feet and a handle on it with ease. A tiny screw driver, wrench, and some screws are included.Depending on your use for this gate, it is either a good value or a questionable one. If you are thinking of getting it to contain small dogs, I would look elsewhere.
