I have some home made skid mount vacuum pumps with 20 hp Kohler motors hooked up to run the pumps. I use the RPM option to set the throttle at optimum RPM for the pump. This tool is perfect for stuff like that.

The RPM 10 works good, but I'm having trouble with the non contact rpm. Trying to learn how to get accurate readings.

In principle, I like this instrument. I have two other instruments from Extech and they are fine. However, this one drains the batteries when switched off, so every single time I want to use it, I have to put new batteries in; even if new batteries have been put in the previous day.

Works well, the only issue I have is that the adapter that threads onto the top has very fine plastic threads that could strip out very easily.

Worked great out of the carton. Very early yet but impressed so far and good product for the money.My only critique - storage pouch very poor as really not enough room for everything - I found another larger container to carry it in.
