So, aside from the fact I felt pretty stupid once I realized I had the instructions photo upside down, the installation went exactly as they described it.... Sure, they could have made some additional indications on the photo as to the front and back of the ATV, but all in all, it went very smoothly, easy would be more like it. My ONLY COMPLAINT is with the ATV manufacturer (CanAm) and it's insanely ridiculous locations of the attachment hardware that holds the factory plastic rock guard onto the bottom of the unit. (Which I realized does not need to be removed... at all!)YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC ROCK GUARD.... just drill two holes through it for the one large U-bolt.I mistakenly approached it from the wrong end, I removed that worthless plastic rock guard for nothing. I should have left it off, but regardless, it does not need to be removed for this plow application!!!!!!!!!A SELLILNG POINT FOR ME.....I am glad that the entire strength and stability of this plow rests on two small contact points under the ATV. If something big and unforgiving is hit, and the front tilt-springs don't save the day, the plows weakest point are those two connection points. It's WAY WAY WAY better and easier to quickly pull the pins and drop the plow to bend the tabs back in place - rather than being so sturdy and heavy duty that your ATV suffers frame damage, rather than the plow. GREAT DESIGN!... (although it is pretty standard, I do think these folks have thought it through better than most on the angle, the leverage and thrust supports that their design offers. Look at the push frame, how it's designed, and how it's welded together. It's different than most, and it sends all of the stress and force backwards, to where the two tabs attach to the mounting plate. BRILLIANT!With the mounting plate at mid-point under the ATV, the stability of this thing is insane! The push ability is driven from the center of the ATV, under where you stand or sit, so there is no chance of losing traction due to frontal sideways slides. The CanAm attachment plate is perfect for my unit. 800R Max XT SST G2 which is the two-person model so from front to back it's about 101" long.I was honestly concerned about this plow's price point... at only $500 seemed cheap! But, I was pleasantly surprised at how cool this unit really is. I will say this, it will fit onto your ATV incorrectly, if the plate is not placed in the right spot. LOL.... that's what I did initially, until the nice customer service lady walked me through it. I sent her photos, and she checked with their techs, who explained that I had the photo backwards, and I needed to look at the ATV from the back, not the front. "OH Heck.... yes, that makes sense to me now.... LOL" Once that was figured out, the install took me about one hour.... easy peazy.Yes, I did tell them they needed to be more clear on their photo... but really, it's on me as I was simply not looking at the photo correctly. THEY SHOW SWAY BARS in place in their photo that my unit didn't have, so it was kinda confusing to figure out where they wanted this plate mounted. Considering this plate fits several models, I presumed the photo was simply for reference, rather than exact placement. I was wrong. Once I figure it out, it was like DUH!... Those BFO moments are priceless.... (Blinding Flash of the Obvious)...BUT... do replace your winch cable!!!! Mine only lasted about 3 snow storms and it broke. I highly recommend buying a new cable or strap for your winch at the same time. When that cable breaks and you are plowing, and that blade hits the bare gravel and digs in, it will damn near throw you over the handle bars! LOL So, replace that cable.... just do it, it probably needs it anyway, and with the money you are saving on this plow you can pick one up pretty cheap. So, I give the plow 5 stars, and customer service 25 stars!!!!This is a good old fashioned American company run by folks who care about making their customers happy customers... they REALLY DID CARE and took time to make sure I had properly removed my head from where the sun don't shine so that I could "finally see" how that mounting plate is attached, and where on the ATV it's attached.I've had three major storms up here at 7500 feet, and all three were about 2' or more, and this plow did it's job.... saved the day, and made me wonder WHY THE HECK I WAITED TO BUY A PLOW!!!!!!!!!Just buy this thing, order the two vertical whips so you can easily see the ends of your plow, and it will also save your kneecaps when it's dark, and you don't see that black plow blade sticking out in the garage.... Ouch! Also, one last thing, they designed the plow frame to accomodate weights for the blade. I added 50 pounds of weights to the front, just behind the blade... AMAZING how that forced the blade down onto the driveway to help remove the layer of ice that had formed.... I only used the weight for a bit, as it's really not necessary for plowing snow, only for digging up snowpacked ice.I Love This Plow!... and the company that sold it to me... they really do care! And no, I did not get paid to write this.... This is pure opinion from a 60 year old mountain guy who's 50 yard long driveway is at a 30% grade, and is too tired to shovel snow any longer.... LOL
