Manufacturer's website listed this as the proper adapter for MBE4000 up to 2005. It engages one thread and then its hex runs into the oil pan. The thread size and pitch is correct, however, the hex portion of this adapter is far too large to go into the recess in a 2005 MBE4000. The reason for the adapter is simply to get the drain valve out past this recess in the oil pan, but if the adapter won't even thread in, the whole process is out the window. It's a quality-made product, it just doesn't work.
