E-Z Threaded Inserts for Metal
Protect tapped holes from stripping and wear and quickly repair damaged threads in soft metal with the E-Z LOK Thread Inserts for metal. Solid threaded inserts that are strong, easy to install, and self-locking. For optimal holding power in metal. The 303 stainless steel thread inserts are machined out of solid steel for strength. Install with standard tools. No special drills, taps, or special installation tools are needed. The inserts are designed for use with soft metals such as aluminum, cast iron, magnesium, etc. An ideal solution for repairing or reinforcing tapped holes in metal.
Simply drill the hole with a standard drill. Tap the hole with a standard tap. Turn in the insert with a screwdriver, bolt/jam nut, or an E-Z LOK drive tool. The pre-applied adhesive on the external threads activates during installation and securely locks the insert in place.

I used this to restore the threads in a brand new aluminum cylinder head that had a stripped intake hole. The repair is stronger than the original threads and only takes a couple minutes to do

Worked well and performed as advertised. Gave a 4 because the craftsmanship could use a little attention as a couple had burring rough thread edges that I had to clean up with a file before using.

I had some helicoils in an aluminum cylinder head on my personal car that just kept pulling out, even with red loctite on theoutside. I work for a CAT dealer and am familiar with a quality insert that CAT makes but they're expensive and the special tooling is even more expensive. Found these and decided to give it a shot. Easy to install especially if you already have a basic tap and die set. and hold great!
