I found this ESC to be perfect for my application in a vintage 25"tugboat using a 2 cell Lion (7.4V) battery and an RS380 motor that draws about 4 - 4.5 amps. The ratings on this ESC are all over the place (30A, 20A, 35W) I think 35W is the most accurate which puts the current draw at about 4.5Amps. I would not want to exceed more than 6 amps with this unit. In my case I removed the plastic heat-shrink jacket and epoxied a small heat sink to the 4 FETs for better heat dissipation and good long term operation. There are no instructions, not that it is very complicated, but it would be nice if the JST connectors were marked for Battery and Motor. For future reference:Female JST: BatteryMale JST: Motor

purchased 6 in total. first two were good and worked as they should, next two were wired wrong at the futaba plug and on the board and would not work. i issued a return and got two replacements. the replacements were wired wrong exactly like the 2 i sent back. i sent a message to the seller about the issue to inform them of the issue. i wasnt even looking for them to replace them or even refund me. all i wanted was to address the issue on hopes they could correct it so that if i were to order more i would be sure to get working units. they sent me a long winded response explaining that the wiring was irrelevant and positive and negative can be either way. i would agree if it were the output to motor leads but it was the input to the board. you cant switch positive and negative on the input . anyhow 2 good units out of 6 is not very good and i do not recommend this product.

One malfunctioned in the first thirty seconds. Other one still working but will need to find something better. It's not a question of if it will go bad but when.

This is a brushed esc that is a simple plug and play design. The board is covered with heat shrink and is lightweight and takes up minimal space that works very well for dual motor setups. I used a single brushed motor (380 size). Gave good response with fairly smooth acceleration.

I bought several of these units now, they sofar all worked fine. I use them to control the motor speed and direction in lego trains, cars etc.

It’s not 30A. Burnt out in less than 5 minutes with 55T motor and 6.4 voltage.

I was not sure what to expect. I installed it in a 1/18 scale buggy. It lasted about 15 seconds. It was boiling hot and would no longer go forward. It only had reverse. I am sure it would do fine for less demanding applications. I took a chance.
