FAQ

  • Q:Can this be used with a electric temp gauge as well, or is it just a sensor to trip the fan switch?
  • A:I used this cooling fan therm switch to close the ground connection to allow the relay to operate the electric fan on my bronco. Most gauges have their own manufacturer's provided sending unit to operate the gauge .
  • Q:What is the thread diameter of the 195/210 sender with and without the adapter?
  • A:3\8 pipe thread and 1\2 on adapter
  • Q:Can this be controlled by a flex-a-lite manual switch?
  • A:This device eliminates the need for a manual switch - making fan control automatic. However, yes- you could put a switch in series if you wanted something like a bypass.

Worked great used a switch to cycle my A/C on and off as engine temp got into the desired range.

Working but not at the rated spec. Just bought a Rodney D switch to replace it.

Installed this as a fan switch on Jeep CJ with 304 V-8, 16" electric fan, aluminum radiator.A relay was used to the control the fan voltage, the fan switch was used to control the relay ground.I replaced engine coolant when switch was installed, bleed the system, and ran the Jeep to operating temp.Fan switch worked,.....fan came on, and then turned off within the temp rating.2 days later, I drive the Jeep again.Fan switch failed to operate after about an hour of driving.Thankfully temps never exceeded 215 on the engine temp gauge, but I did have to bypass the switch to keep the fan on after the switch failed. Not only is this an annoyance having to bypass the switch, but it could have cooked my motor had I not seen the temp increase and bypassed the switch before the temps got too high.In closing....don't waste your money of this switch.

I bought one of these for the electric fan in my truck worked well for about 3 months, then the electrical connector broke off. I bought another thinking that maybe the wire was too tight and had stressed the connector. Bought a second one to replace it and it worked well for about 2 months. My truck overheated and I found that the switch had stopped working. I ended wiring my fan to just come on when the motor is running and the sensor is just there to fill the hole.

The product worked on an electric fan application, however I feel the sensor was kicking on at about 180 and not 195.

Didn't last very long. Other than that it was okay it just kicked on at 220 instead of 210°. Just be careful, I didn't notice until the truck was overheating
