We took the walls down to the lath and these screws worked great to cover with GoBoard. But we left the plaster on the ceiling so to install GoBoard over the shower we had to find longer screws - they had smaller heads so not as easy to drive as these.

These are kind of expensive, but they work great. I wouldn't use anything else for GoBoard. They would probably work on most backer boards. Overall, I'm pleased and would buy them again.
