This thermowell is designed for the FastFerment conical line of fermenters. I put this unit in my 3 gallon fermenter.It doesn’t come with a nut to put on the inside because the FF conical fermenters have a molded threaded area for the thermowell to screw directly into after drilling the hole.I used a 7/16†drill bit to make the hole. I used one of the two supplied silicone washer and some plumbers tape and it sealed up without leaks on the first try.It’s too bad that the thermowell doesn’t come with the fermenter to start with.It was worth the money and the 5 minutes to install it.

easy to install. leak tested it same day and didn't have to rewrap the fitting. I did have to drill out a space for the thermowell t o seat and no drill bit was included. luckily the largest my drillset comes with was just the right size and fit well. I used a wrench to tighten it in place and haven't touched it since. honestly I probably wont take it off to clean it seeing as its such a tight fit and it's pretty easy to get to on the inside of the conical

The quality of the item is fine. It is solid, well-built and all. It comes with the thermowell and gasket, but not the plastic ring pictured. It does not come with instructions.The FAQ on the FastFerment site references using the plastic ring as a drill guide, but not what size drill bit to use, and that's moot since I didn't get the ring. Their FAQ links to some third-party sites to purchase a threaded PVC adapter, with no indication of what it's for. There are no installation instructions anywhere on their site, either.I wrote to them hoping for clarification and never got a response.If you are confident in what you're doing, this is an inexpensive and well-made solution. They just don't offer you any instructions or support in punching a hole in the side of your fairly expensive fermenter.

Solo le doy dos estrellas ya que no viene completo y no hay forma de instalarlo sin conseguir piezas extras, en concreto no cuenta con la pieza interna, se tiene que conseguir alguna tuerca de media o algo para poder instalarlo, también viene con dos juntas, pero la interna es un poco mas pequeña de lo que se necesita, en fin, si estás consiente de ello y puedes conseguir la pieza faltante adelante, pero ya estás enterado.
