I absolutely love this quill pen and the numerous nibs included. It is a beautiful pen. It feels delightful to hold and write with and the weight is perfect. It also has a very nice glass bottle of black ink and a stamp with wax with which to seal envelopes. I purchased a leather journal with beautiful deckled pages to write in with this particular quill pen. Will try to remember to write samples with each nib and post pictures. Update: Here are examples of all nibs that come with pen. Keep in mind that I wrote on very water soluble paper, which might not be what others might write on.

I’ve always wanted to try writing like my ancestors, but I figured it would be a difficult messy process. I liked the look of this product, so I bought it although I didn’t need all these nibs. I watched a video on preparing to write and after washing the new nib in hot water, the person could only write a few strokes. I gently brushed with toothpaste as the instructions that came in the box recommended. I was pleasantly surprised that the pen wrote easily without dripping and I could write a sentence or two before I had to dip the pen again. I practiced on a pad of paper that is about the same thickness as printer paper. The ink dried quickly and I could not see it on the reverse side. I am left-handed, so my writing often smears, but this did not happen. The pen felt fine in my hand and it is so beautiful. After use, I washed the nib in hot water to remove the ink and dried it carefully to prevent rusting. This also comes with a seal and wax. The photos don’t really show too well what shape is on the seal. It is a fleur de lis, which is absolutely perfect for me since it is the symbol of the city where I live. I think this would make a great gift for an artsy person or someone who likes to keep a journal.

Beautiful product! Washed the nibbles with soapy warm water before use as some people recommended and it works perfectly and smooth. Easy to use, ink is deep black. I’m not sure if it’s normal for this kind of ink to bleed (like watercolors) or if it depends on the quality. First time user and it’s worth every penny. Happy with this product.

I purchased this calligraphy set to practice with since it came with a range of nibs. The set is boxed nicely and has foam to protect it while storing.The pen has a beautiful black feather glued into a metal pen that holds nibs, it is textured so it can cause your hand to become sore when using for long periods. There are 18 different nibs, the round nibs and one other do have reservors that hold a fair amount of ink so you can write for longer periods without needing to re dip. The remaining nibs do not have reservors but they don't hold much and require redipping often. The nibs are rather stiff and do not flex like a Brause or other brand name nib.The set comes with a nice bottle of black ink as well as a holder for the pen.You must clean the nibs prior to use to remove the protective coating found on new nibs.The set is a nice set but the lack of flexability might be troublesome for some who prefer a more flexible nib.

The nibs that come with this pen are the reason I bought it (specifically the round ones) and I ended up loving all of them! They write very fluidly and some have a reservoir so that you can keep drawing for a while before having to dip again. The pen itself is actually beautiful and very heavy feeling, with intricate engraving that makes me feel all fancy when drawing stuff. All in all, well worth the money to me!
