My Febco sprinkler backflow system was dripping water so I assumed the worst that there was a crack in the housing. After disassembling I found it was most likely just the cover plate o ring that was old. After replacing all the o rings and reassembling the leak was gone. It took me a minute or two to figure out that the large ring was actually for the rectangular cover plate. It has to be held in place with your fingers while putting the cover plate back on but I feel I now have years of use left in my Febco sprinkler backflow valves

This kit was the only way to get a single o-ring to replace one that leaked. Looked like the old one was pinched by Febco during assembly of their backflow preventer, but didn't start leaking until several months after we bought the house. In my opinion, the o-ring and the machined seat for it needs to be a larger O.D.Edit 8/22/2021: Had to remove the end and rubber o-ring again, to perform another repair on the unit. Getting the o-ring re-installed in its groove was a real challenge (and took 4 hands) because its diameter had expanded. This is what I'd expect if it was exposed to oil or gasoline, but not water! So even at the inflated price, the o-ring can really only be used once. If there is a next time, I'll try RTV silicon.

This worked great. Comes with some extra seals which is nice in case you need to use a thicker seal than original to fix the issue. I had two leaks in my backflow from a freeze and this kit saved me from having to replace it. So glad I came across it.
