If you have intermittent lifter tap and oil pressure drop in your 2005 5.3, this is what you need. You’re here because you suspect that might be your problem. My oil pressure would drop to 20-30 psi then one of my lifters would start tapping. For a 2wd, this is a simple repair. I have a suburban z71 and you have to move the front diff out of the way. I managed by just unbolting the diff at the mounts and leaving the cv shafts in place. With an extra set of hands, easy peasy. I did it by myself in my driveway in about 8 or 9 hours, including a couple trips to autozone. Replace the oil pan gasket, put some gasket maker in the corners where the front and rear covers mate to the block. I would recommend also replacing your oil block off plate gasket as well. Mine was leaking and it was $5 at autozone. Also, you’ll have to drill out the factory rivets on the oil pan gasket. You got this.

The old one disintegrated when I touched it. This thing made my 5.3 Chevy run like new. Oil pressure was 22-25 psi now 40-50.. amazing

This bad boy right here is where itw at. I replaced this O ring on my chevy silverado oil pump tube because my truck had a tapping and low oil pressure. Now I have no more tapping sound and a much higher oil pressure. One of the best $3.00 I ever spent which saved me $1000 on repairs and perhaps a whole nother vehicle.

Oem ring went out, this is a great replacement, I haven't had a problem since I changed. Although I suggest to buy a girlder if your pickup tube is a single bolt.
