I had a hard time finding the correct replacement grommet for a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport 3.5L, since there was conflicting information (including Amazon) as to what will work, but this did the trick. Assuming you are replacing with the valve cover still in place, the old grommet can be a bit tricky to remove. Keep in mind, the outer and inner rings are rubber coated steel, so I found it best to use a tiny screwdriver and pick to bend it in at several locations, and once the seal is broken, it is fairly easy to wiggle it out, being careful not to drop in any bits. The next trick is to get the new one in place, which is no small feat. I'm sure there is a tool available to seat the grommet, I have seen it done with a deep well socket, but I couldn't find any deep enough to clear the VVT solenoid, so I used a small piece of 1" PVC. The 1" PVC fitting was a bit too small inside diameter, while a 1" PVC fitting too large, so I cut a side of the PVC (see pic) so it would expand a bit and clear the solenoid. I greased up the fitting and the solenoid to help it slide into place, ran the engine to heat up the valve cover, and put the grommet in boiling water to loosen the rubber up a bit. Being careful not to tear the rubber that connects the outer and inner rings, I gently tapped it into place using a mallet. Did it work? Yes. Was there probably an easier way to do so? I'm sure there is.

Inner diameter too small to fit vct solenoids. Waste of my time and $$.

I had an oil leak on my valve cover and this was a direct fit.

Even Fel Pro had this wrong. These were 45mm in diameter and my 2014 Ford Taurus 3.5 took a 35mm diameter VVT Seal
