Installed these guys with no drama into my NA8 Miata motor using one of the magnetic spring keeper extraction tools.I was surprised how much oil got behind these guys during the job. Smoky driving for 20 miles or so before it cleared up. I worried for a bit that I'd screwed up the installation.

After seeing mixed reviews online I decided to approach these scientifically. Mazda sells OEM parts in different sizes for intake and exhaust valves but Fel-Pro says they have figured a way around this. Anyways I installed all 8 exhaust seals first with excellent results. 300-400 miles later I decided to give the intake side a chance. At first start up I noticed an obnoxious amount of oil out of the exhaust. I read up on it and found some reviews online talking about a break in period so I decided to give them the 20 miles referenced in that review. 4 quarts of oil later I can guarantee that these should NOT be used on the intake valves of Mazda BP engines. It gets 2 stars because if you're trying to hardcore budget an engine refresh you could buy these only for the exhaust then buy OEM for the intake and still come out cheaper than all OEM.

i purchased these seals in late July it is not late September and i have 2 seals leaking oil into the cylinder over night. would not recommend that you purchases. waiting for customer service to address my issue. will update after customer service reaches out to me.

First order received, husband installed on his commuter car that was having a problem with smoking. 4 hours or labor later, the smoking was worse than before. Had other projects that took priority, and he had already pitched the old seals, so couldnt simply return them. 2 months later he spoke with a mechanic who said the valve stem seals he got must have been the wrong size. I ordered again, and the new set was significantly smaller in size. 3 Labor hours later this time, we will see if the smoking persists. $35 and 7 hours of frustrating labor down the tube so far, due to the seller sending the wrong product the first time.
