2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9L. I recommend everyone who has a 2nd gen dodge with the 5.9 to do the time and replace your timing gasket. Since the waterpump needs removed also do it too. Back them Chrysler didn't really understand gasket fundamentals and the timing gasket and location of the ports destroy the gasket and over 95 percent of the time creats problems doe the road. I'd use felpr as the material adheres correctly unlike the paper thin original gasket as you see in the photo is what they do. They just break away over time.

The timing gasket is made of metal with molded silicon with several layers of ridge dams. Obviously FAR better engineered than any others! I am also happy with all the extra goodies that make it a great value

This job is a real PITA you don't want to do this job more than you have to the timing cover gasket is metal infused with rubber much better than OEM
